Textured Floral Mother’s Day Card for My Mom

Yesterday I shared 10 floral cards in a Mother’s Day Parade. You can see those cards here. Today I’m sharing the card I made for Mom. She reads my blog each day, and I didn’t want her to see it before I could give it to her. Like the cards I shared on Saturday, this card showcases the beauty of the Textured Floral stamp set. Here’s the card:

Before I share the products I used to make the card, I want to share the inspiration for this card. I bought a some tissue paper online for gift giving (we love gifts in a bag), and one of the patterns really stood out to me – I immediately knew I could recreate this pattern with stamps and ink. Here’s a picture of the card with the gift bag I had for Mom:

…so they aren’t as much of an exact match as I thought they were, but you can see the inspiration.

Blue flowers and gold leaves/accents – I knew Mom would love this tissue paper design, so why not create my Own Designer Series Paper with the Textured Floral stamp set. I used Night of Navy, Boho Blue and Summer Splash to stamp the flowers. I added gold leaves and flower pistils with gold embossing powder. I added a couple of accents with Wild Wheat ink.

The flowers and leaves on the card are stamped with the Textured Floral stamp set. How gorgeous are the designs in this set?!

The sentiment on my card is stamped with Night of Navy ink and a stamp from the Sentimental Rose Card Kit. I punched it out with a 2-3/8″ Circle Punch and added it to a Night of Navy circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies. I added Gold 1/8″ Trim behind the sentiment and six gold Blooming Pearls.

My Mom loves blue flowers, so this card is designed just for her. If you love the mix of Summer Splash, Boho Blue and Night of Navy as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
