It’s Memorial Day weekend in the United States. Memorial Day weekend falls on the last Monday of May every year and is viewed as the unofficial kickoff to Summer. While we enjoy cookouts, picnics and outdoor events during this three-day weekend, today is a day to remember those who’ve died in military service to our country. With that in mind, I’ve made a gorgeous thank you card with a simply layout and beautiful designs from the Take to the Sky Designer Series Paper. Here’s my card:

I played with several options for the layout of this card, but I love the one I landed on – it’s perfect for showcasing any stamped patterns or Designer Series Papers. Here are the measurements I used to build this card (starting with the card base and working my way up to the sentiment):
- Night of Navy – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic White – 5-1/4″ x 4″

I used the retired White Stampin’ Emboss Powder to stamp the sentiment on Night of Navy cardstock for my card. According to Stampin’ Up!’s Inventory Status Report, the new Wow! Embossing Powders (I’ve never used them, but I’ve heard great things!) are expected to be in stock the week of June 3 – that’s just around the corner. Here are the two new options:
