I try to mix things up day-after-day. As I was adding the final touches to the card I’m sharing with you today, it occurred to me that I’ve done the unthinkable – I’ve shared two pink cards in a row. Yesterday I shared a Pretty in Pink beauty (head-to-toe pink). Today’s card feature richer, moodier tones, but you can’t deny its pinkness. Here’s my simple, but very pink, card:
The flower and sentiment at the heart of this card are pulled from the Poised Peony stamp set, featured on page 28 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2024 Annual Catalog. Here’s a look at this sweet stamp set:
How gorgeous are these sketched images?
I inked up a D clear block with Bubble Bath ink (just tapped a clean block in the ink pad a couple of times) and then stamped it on the 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ panel of Basic White cardstock. The block left an imperfect, distressed rectangle that was a perfect backdrop for my flower. Here’s a closer look at the texture created by the block:
I stamped the flower and sentiment in Moody Mauve, a beautiful complement to the softer pink. I added six Bubble Bath dots from the Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots to the stamped image.
The soft pink really brightens the dusty pink. I framed the focal panel with Moody Mauve and then another layer of white cardstock.
I added a 4-1/4″ square, striped pattern of Moody Mauve Designer Series Paper from the 2023-2025 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The band of stripes brings out the pinks in the stamped image. Such an easy way to let the focal point shine. If you like the mix of Basic White, Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
