I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers on Saturday afternoon. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always impressed by what others are making and love to spend that time with my customers who participate. Sometimes we rush through our projects and then just chat for the rest of the time. Always such fun!
July’s Painted Petals kit is amazing – while there’s no need to create alternatives with the products (the as-designed projects are perfect as they are), we can’t resist the temptation. Today I’m sharing two of the cards I made with July’s kit, a watercolored, floral kit for a variety of occasions. Such fun!
Alternative Projects
The Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin Kit is designed around gorgeous, detailed cutouts and stunning watercolored backgrounds. Here are two of the alternative projects I whipped up to share with my group on our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call:
It’s easy to make beautiful cards when you start with such a fun collection of products. I’m going to share a closer look at both of these projects with you today
Lucky to Have You in My Life
While the watercolored bases in this kit are nearly perfect, I thought these poppies would also look great against a dark, rich backdrop for a little extra pop. I positioned these flowers against a Mossy Meadow page from the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper and a 2″ strip of Gold Mercury Vellum Specialty Paper. Both are currently available in the recent Online Exclusives launch.
Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper:

I popped up the flowers with a bunch of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a little extra shine to my project with six gold sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
Friends Like You
I used the back of a Calypso Coral and Peach Pie card base from one of the designs for the background on my card that features the daisies. I simply popped up the die cut flowers and placed them in the lower, left corner of the panel and mounted that on a Calypso Coral card base. So simple, so sweet. Here’s my card:
I accented my daisies with four Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins (from the Flowering Zinnias Suite Collection). While the accents are labeled Pumpkin Pie, they more closely resemble Peach Pie.
