Yesterday I shared two of my alternative projects from Stampin’ Up!’s July 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit (if you missed that post, you can see it here). The Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin Kit is designed around gorgeous, detailed cutouts and stunning watercolored backgrounds. The cards (as-designed) are nearly perfect, but we still like to take alternative looks at the projects. 🙂
Simply the Best
Melon Mambo, a long-time Stampin’ Up! favorite, is just as popular as ever. I was happy to see the sweet flowers in this beautifully bright pink. The Melon Mambo background is pulled from the back of one of the cards in the kit and mounted on a Melon Mambo card base. Here’s my card:
When I first unpacked my Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin Kit, I noticed how the shape of two of the die-cuts mimic the shape of the Countryside Corners Dies. I immediately pulled my Countryside Corners Dies off the shelf to see if they would work together. Alas, they do! Here’s a look a the Countryside Corners Dies:
I cropped the die shape from Pool Party cardstock and popped up the detailed die-cut image with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. So easy! I accented my flowers with three Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio embellishments. While these sequins are designed as Berry Burst accents, they work well with the watercolored tones in the flowers.
I added a 2″ strip of white cardstock behind the focal panel, but it looked to stark. I wanted to mimic the speckled design of the frame around the flowers (it came this way), so I flicked a little ink from my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends on the white panel to add that design. It came out perfectly! Here’s a closer look:
Mossy Meadow and Melon Mambo look great together – and Pool Party looks great with both of them. It only made sense that the trio of colors would be a great team! If you love this mix of Pool Party, Melon Mambo and Mossy Meadow as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
