Merry Christmas with Louise’s Surfing Santa

My dear friend, Louise Sharp, is visiting from Australia. Before her trip, Louise let me know how much she’d love to play with the Surfing Santa stamp set during her visit (we’ve set aside some stamp time while she’s here). The Surfing Santa set wasn’t on my A-list from the new Holiday Mini Catalog, but I quickly added it to my order – and I’m glad I did. Here’s a card Louise made with this [I now concede to be] adorable stamp set:

The Surfing Santa stamp set is perfect for the groovy, beach-loving friend in your life – but also anyone who appreciates a little Christmas fun. Here’s a look at the Surfing Santa stamp set:

Surfing Santa, Stampin Up! 164298Louise stamped the surfing Santa with Jet Black StazOn ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Using a Water Painter, Louise colored the image with a mix of Real Red, Petal Pink, Summer Splash and Smoky Slate ink. How adorable is he?! She snipped him out with Paper Snips and added him over a Summer Splash wave. Here’s a closer look:

The strip at the base of the card is a candy cane striped pattern from the A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper – what a perfect accent for the base of the card. Here’s a look a the colors and patterns in the A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper:

A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 164107While there are three pages of punch out designs and card panels in the pack, the 12″ x 12″ designs are GORGEOUS and perfect for scrapbooking or cardmaking. Here’s a look at the candy cane stripes on the page Louise used on her card:

Louise framed the focal panel with Basic White cardstock and added a sweet bow with White Baker’s Twine.

I love the mix of Real Red and Summer Splash, so I was happy to see Louise showcase it here. With all the Petal Pink in Santa’s exposed (and un-sun-kissed body), Petal Pink adds a great accent to this card. If you love the mix of Petal Pink, Real Red and Summer Splash as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
