Yesterday I shared a card with a bold camera front and center to showcase the Capturing Smiles Bundle. While that focal point is definitely fun, there are so many smaller elements in this set that deserve their own moment.
So today, I went in a completely different direction.
Instead of focusing on the camera, I built this card around three tiny travel vignettes – each one telling its own story:
- Camping in the mountains
- Relaxing on the beach
- Exploring a big city
There’s something really satisfying about how these little scenes work together – like a collection of memories across one card front.
To create the background, I lined up all three stamps on a single block and stamped them repeatedly across a panel of Basic White cardstock. It’s quick, efficient and creates a cohesive pattern in one go.
Why I Skipped the Coloring
I could have colored each of these images… but I didn’t.
Keeping everything in black and white gives the card a clean, modern feel – and let’s be honest, it also saved a couple of hours. 🙂 Sometimes restraint really does make a design stronger.
I only used the stamps from the stamp set, but here’s a look at the Capturing Smiles Bundle:
Here’s a closer look at the bands of images I used to build a background for my card:
Here’s a little secret about those stamped rows:
Perfect alignment isn’t the goal.
No matter what tool you use, lining these up flawlessly is tough. So instead of fighting it, I leaned into it and stamped the rows at a slight angle. That subtle shift disguises any tiny inconsistencies and makes the whole panel feel intentional.
You’re welcome. 😉
Finishing Touches
To pull everything together, I added:
- A small heart from the Endless Love Bundle (currently on the Last Chance list)
- An awesome sentiment from the Words of Beauty stamp set
- A trio of Flirty Flamingo dots from the Garden Epoxy Dots
This is the second card I’ve shared using this bright + black combo, and I’m loving the energy it brings. It’s bold, a little unexpected and really fun. If you’re drawn to that happy clash of color, this might be a color combination to save and revisit later.

Last Thoughts
This card is proof that the smaller images in a stamp set can carry just as much impact as the main feature. By repeating them and simplifying the color palette, you get something that feels fresh, modern and effortlessly stylish.
Plus, giving yourself permission to skip steps (like coloring or perfect alignment) can open the door to designs you might not have considered otherwise.
