Consider Yourself Hugged for GDP093

You know how much I love great sentiments, right?  As I flip through Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Annual Catalog, there are so many great sentiments I love.  One of my favorites is “consider yourself hugged” from Lots of Love – what a great sentiment for all kinds of occasions.  My card for this week’s GDP093 Color Challenge is a sweet-and-simple 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ card that features this super-sweet sentiment:

Lots of Love, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

And here’s the banner for this week’s color challenge that inspired my card:Stampin' Up! Color Inspiration: Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Pool PartyTips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Consider Yourself Hugged.  Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Annual Catalog is filled with great sentiments – you know I love that!  While there are certainly other sentiments I love, this “consider yourself hugged” sentiment is right up there with my favorites – not necessarily because of the font but because of the sentiment itself.  It just so happens to be grouped with the gorgeous “sending lots of love” that I love most.  Score!  Here’s a look at this wonderful stamp set:

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a super-sweet card for a Be Inspired Blog Hop where we featured our favorite stamp from the new catalog. Mine is this gorgeous “Sending Lots of Love” sentiment from the Lots of Love stamp set (you can click on this image to read the original post):  Lots of Love, Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up!, Brian King

  • Making Friends with Basic Black.  When working with a collection of colors that are all-soft or all-sweet or all-bright, it’s important to add a bit of Basic Black to offset the other tones a bit.  These three colors are all so sweet (almost gave me a toothache), so I knew I needed to add a considerable amount of black.  [Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper enters stage left, waves and prepares to be covered with some ink.]  What fun!
  • Coloring Designer Series Paper.  If you have followed me for a while, then you know how much I love to manipulate Designer Series Papers – I love to either color them or sponge them or stamp on them.  I used my Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party Stampin’ Write Markers to color in the white spots on this black-and-white paper from Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, creating my own super-fun pattern from this paper.  A small pop of color was added with the Berry Burst (much richer than the other two colors) sentiment for a perfect touch.  Good times were had by all!Lots of Love, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
