First Frost for FabFriday

A new FabFriday Color Challenge kicks off today – and the colors couldn’t be more beautiful. The challenge centers around four Stampin’ Up! colors – Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron, Blackberry Bliss and Tranquil Tide. These colors, perfect for Fall, gave me a perfect opportunity to play with my First Frost Bundle and coordinating Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper. Here’s my card:

  • First Frost. The First Frost stamp set gives us some gorgeous, watercolored images that can be used all year long – and check out the gorgeous sentiments in this set. Today’s card is the second project I’ve made with the set of frames in the Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies – I love them! Here’s a look at the First Frost Bundle:First Frost Bundle, Stampin' Up!, 149943The flower that graces the side of the sentiment is stamped with Mint Macaron and cropped with the coordinating Frosted Bouquet Framelits Die. Such a sweet element, don’t you think?A Big Thank You, Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Frosted Floral. While the floral stamp and sentiment on this card are lovely, this card is all about the layers of rich cardstock and Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper – there are EIGHT layers on this simple card. I knocked out three colors by working with these two panels of Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper – Blackberry Bliss on the base, Tranquil Tide and Mint Macaron on the top layer. • A Big Thank You. The sentiment on this card is from A Big Thank You stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog. The A Big Thank You Bundle is a hidden gem in the catalog (check out page 122). Here’s a closer look at this bundle:A Big Thank You Bundle, Stampin' Up! 148404If you look closely at the stamp set for A Big Thank You, you’ll notice it’s a bit different from the sentiment I used on my card today. That’s because Stampin’ Up! made a little grammatical “oopsies” when making this set. Instead of “Grateful everyday for you,” it should read, “Grateful every day for you.” That extra space is important if you don’t want the grammar police knocking on your door. If you have ordered this set (and if it has no space between “every” and “day,” then you can contact your demonstrator who can get you a new stamp with the corrected wording. Demonstrator Support will send just the single stamp that you can replace in the version you have. Yay!

Bundles: First Frost  Stamp Sets: First Frost, A Big Thank You  Papers: Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper, Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Thick Whisper White  Inks: Mint Macaron, Basic Black  Accessories: Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the FabFriday site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.

  1. A giant YUM for this mixx of pretty patterns. Love your choices for fall colors!

  2. I love how you are always giving us great ways to use our DSP stash. It’s a beautiful card with your trademark layering and pretty floral die. Have a wonderful day!

  3. lovely! I really like your different frames styles.

  4. First Frost is such a gorgeous bundle. I am so crazy about photopolymer stamps with matching dies. It give us so many possibilities I may have missed in making wonderful cards. I have no idea other then flowers what I would have done with this particular color combination but you, as always, have hit it out of the ballpark. I hope you are enjoying every minute of On Stage!

  5. I LOVE this card Brian! Beautiful color combination. I think you sold me on the First Frost Bundle, really looking at it now. You don’t see the other stamps being used in this collection very often, other than the beautiful roses. (Btw, how tall are you? Standing on stage, it looks like the ladies come up to your elbows!! hehe)

  6. Great mix of prints for the color challenge!
