Night in Bethlehem for GDP102

Night in Bethlehem is Stampin’ Up!’s first Christmas bundle with a religious theme.  I also think it’s going to be one of the most popular bundles Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog.  The stamps and dies can be used for a traditional card or for a card with modern feel.  I chose the latter to make this card for this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge:

  • Night in Bethlehem.  How gorgeous are these die cuts that create such a beautiful backdrop on this card?!  Don’t they scream “Bethlehem”?  Has their ever been an occasion in your life when you had the occasion to scream “Bethlehem”?  Not only do I adore the cityscape background in the Night of Bethlehem bundle, but the sentiments are pretty wonderful.  The fonts are a perfect mix of modern and classic.  Here’s a look at this amazing bundle:

  • Layout and Layering.  I turned this week’s sketch on it’s side to best showcase these dies and stamp images. It’s OK to flip the sketches – as long as the basic layout of the sketch is still there.  These cityscape dies layer perfectly – the one in the background (cropped with the Basic Black cardstock) has a deep base to it so that the one in the foreground (cropped with the Crumb Cake cardstock) fits right along the base of it.  These dies were made for each other.Night in Bethlehem, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Keep it Natural.  This card called for neutral color combinations. Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Whisper White might not be a classic “Christmas combo,” but I think it’s lovely here.  If you are inspired by this natural color scheme, please save this:Stampin' Up!
