SNEAK PEEK: Bird Banter (Day Six)

It’s always a little bit sad when good things come to an end. [insert frowny face here] Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed sharing the projects I presented during my Stamp Showcase presentation on the Main Stage during Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event. For my presentation, I created and shared five new projects with the Bird Banter stamp set that will be available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions Catalog. Today, I’m giving you a look at the last of the project. If you missed my first five projects with this new set, you can see them here:

Today is my favorite of all the cards I’ve shared. The design is soooo simple, but I really love the colorful bird and coordinating papers. I adore the toucan in the Bird Banter set and loved helping him shine with assistance from a little paper-piecing. Here’s my card:

  • Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper. This gorgeous, striped paper from Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (one of my all-time favorite prints) gave me the perfect backdrop for this colorful bird. I pulled some of the colors from the paper into the toucan but wasn’t afraid to incorporate some different colors that aren’t found in the paper. • Paper-Piecing Tips. I love the bold effect that paper-piecing can give a project – using small pieces of colored cardstock to fill-in the element of an image can be tedious (especially if you don’t like to paper snip), but the results can be very rewarding. I shared two tips for paper-piecing during my OnStage presentation. You can read both on the graphic below.Tips for Perfect Paper-Piecing, Brian King, Stampin' Up!
