Painted Glass for CTS272

Chrissy Larson has designed a super-fun sketch for this week’s challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch – I couldn’t wait to play along. A pile of cupcakes inspired me to make a soft, sweet wedding card with a gorgeous rose. That makes lots of since, right? Here’s my card:

CTS272Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Painted Glass Bundle. While there are so many things to love in the Painted Glass Bundle – fun images, sentiments in an Old English Gothic Calligraphy, and Thinlits dies to create stunning windows and frames – I used the simple flower to build my card. Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the flowers perfectly on the base of the card, I inked the flower, stamped it once on scrap paper and again on the card front. The flower from this set is simply gorgeous. Here’s a look at all of the elements in the Painted Glass Bundle:Painted Glass Bundle, Stampin' Up! 148362
  • Stampin’ Blends. After such high demand in March, Stampin’ Up! was forced to turn off the product numbers for Stampin’ Blends, alcohol markers in many of our exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors. All of the original Blends (except for the retiring Pink Pirouette) will be back in the new catalog, AND there are lots of new Stampin’ Blends in the 2018 Annual Catalog – all of the 2018-2020 In Colors and Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Soft Sea Foam and Soft Suede. I used Calypso Coral and Old Olive to color this flower: Painted Glass, Itty Bitty Greetings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, CTS272, wedding cardStampin’ Blends will be back in stock when the catalog launches on June 1. Be ready to place your orders early so that you don’t miss out. These are CERTAIN to be popular, and I don’t want you to miss out.
  • Layering With Vellum Cardstock. Vellum can be tricky if you want to glue everything down without seeing glue between the vellum and cardstock beneath it – you really have to think ahead to get the look you want. To construct the front of this card, I first glued the Whisper White panel to the Basic Black panel and then centered it over the panel of Vellum Cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added glue to the vellum where the center panel was so that I could glue it to the Calypso Coral base.
