BLOG CANDY! Free Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer

candy2Boy, oh, boy! Have I got a treat for you today?

I am not one of those people who celebrates my birthday for a month at a time. “OOOOOHHHH! Only 45 days until my birthday. I can’t wait…OOOOOOHHHH! It’s finally my birthday month..my birthday week…did you know it’s my birthday?!” Yes! We all know. Frankly, I find that behavior exhausting. By the time that person’s birthday gets here, everyone is THANKFUL it’s over. And then you hear, “OOOOOOHHHH! 364 days until my birthday.” Geez! Will it ever end?

All that to tell you I have a birthday next week. This is a big one (it has a zero in it), so everyone is asking what I want to do for my birthday! Here’s a list of what I want:

  • I want to have a delicious dinner at Annie’s Thai Restaurant (the best food…ever).
  • I want to get together to stamp with friends
  • I want everyone who reads this post to buy $25 of Stampin’ Up! product from my demo site.

Since the third bullet point AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN (I totally get it! – you either have a wonderful demonstrator to whom you are loyal, or you are a demonstrator yourself), I’ve decided that I am going to give YOU a gift for my birthday. Here’s a subtle hint at what I’m giving away: 20121209-191954.jpg

Does this photo capture “crazy eyes” well enough? I was attempting to capture the maniacal energy of a used car commercial. **If you film, edit or produce used car commercials, then please reread that last sentence, substituting “the maniacal energy of a used car commercial” with “the maniacal energy of a crazed clown”.** ***If you are a crazed clown who makes used car commercials, then I am so sorry to offend you. You are special.***

OK! OK! Let me get to it! Leave me a comment on this blog post (as many as you want – all week long) to let me know what your ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Stampin’ Up! product is. Is it a punch? Is it a tool? Is it a color? What can you NOT live without? My goal is to have 400 comments on this post (and that’s not a hint as to which birthday I will be celebrating). Won’t you help me make my birthday wish come true?

On Sunday morning, after I wake up and sing a couple of rounds of “Happy Birthday to Me!”, I will announce the winner of my very first Blog Candy Giveaway! The winner will receive a BRAND NEW Stampin’ Trimmer as a gift from me. Yipee! Doodle! Dee! (Sorry to all my followers in Canada, England and Japan, I can only ship to a U.S. address).

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

And so begins the last countdown until my very special day…

🙂

  1. Hi Brian –
I am relatively new to your blog, and I love it! You never fail to inspire and amuse me. I especially like when you have a conversation for we, the readers. My birthday is always around Thanksgiving, so I have deemed November my birth month….let the presents begin! This year it didn’t work as well as other years b/c we just moved into a brand, spanking new house, so that was my present all month until my actual day. I told my husband I felt cheated and that the house shouldn’t count, but he doesn’t see it that way.
Anyway, I’m way off subject. My favorite SU product is dimensionals. None of the other brands out there work as well as SU’s, in my opinion.
I would love a chance to win the trimmer! It’s on my Christmas list.
Thanks for sharing your talent. I appreciate it as a serial CASEr.
Oh, and a very happy birthday to you!

  2. I would have to say the big shot! Everything I do usually has something I have done with that. Love your blog I try to tune in every day! Happy Birthday to you!

  3. Happy Early Birthday Brian! My favorite (for today anyway) is any of the embossing folders! I use them with almost every card that I make. I love your daily blogs – thanks for sharing with all of us!

  4. I started counting, but there are too many comments to count. In case you need another to make 400, my favorite thing right now is the individual stamps that were recently sold. So often I don’t need the whole set, so I bought several of the individual ones. Hope SU will continue to offer some of those.

  5. Brian, I know the world got a little brighter when you were born: you teach us new things and you make us laugh! I love my watercolor crayons-they color so beautifully with my aquapainters that I feel like a natural-born artist when I use them. Thank you for asking. And Happy Birthday To You!

  6. Happy birthday, crazy eyes!! I can not stamp without my Stampin’ Scrub. I tried rubber stamping years before such a thing existed and the mess cleaning ink off stamps ended that effort. First SU! workshop I went to, my eyes lit up when I saw that scrub. Loved it. Had to have it. Still have it but LOVE the new one mostest (I have 3 generations of the scrubs.)

  7. Happy early b-day!!!!! Your blog is the great!!!! Your stampers must have a blast at your classes with your great sense of humor and your talent at card making!! The aqua painters are a favorite of mine – water color cards always come out looking great. Enjoy your day!!!

  8. Happy Birthday Brian! Love looking at your website and the cards you create. Love the personality you put into them! The Big Shot has to be my favorite too…and I use the embossing folders the most with it! So easy to use and they add so much! Hope you get 400 comments!

  9. Happy early birthday Brian! I am new to the Pals and enjoy reading your posts. Love your personality, and would l-o-v-e to win this paper trimmer! But even if I don’t, I will still enjoy reading your posts! LOL! My favorite SU product, hands down, are dimensionals. Can’t create without them! Enjoy your upcoming birthday and thanks for the opportunity to win the trimmer!

  10. First things first, Happy Birthday this week. The older we get, the longer we celebrate!!! Have the best one ever! My most favorite tool would be the Simply Scored board. I have 3 other scoring boards and none of them even compare to the Stampin’ Up! Simply Scored. And they are bring out more things to do with it. Yeah! Thanks for all your wonderful ideas and inspiring each of us to do more.

  11. Happy Happy Birthday Baby…..Oh, too bad …. 40 isn’t old enough to recognize that tune LOL
A newbie to SU products, at this point, the ‘recordable’ card I purchased for my brother is absolutely the best. What a rendition of ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ he’s getting this year!!! I am excited to pay him back after all those musical birthday cards he’s given me…
And by the way, I am SO glad to read a guy that sounds as excited as me about birthdays. I celebrated an entire year when I turned sixty…. Make all your wished happen, Brian:)

  12. Oops, that’s wishes…with an ‘s’ 🙂

  13. Brian…Happy Happy Birrhday! Don’t worry about the zero, it comes with wisdom, and in your case, great humor. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…thanks for sharing all your wonderful creativity. May your special day be filled with good times with family and friends and lots of cupcakes. Enjoy your day!!

  14. Happy Birthday, Brian! You’re the same age as my son, and like him, you don’t look a day over 30 (of course, since you’re not saying, maybe you AREN’T a day over 30 yet!). Have a great day, and look forward to many years of fun stamping ahead. Oh, how I wish I had discovered SU when I was … whatever you are. BTW, I think I most appreciate the punches I have. I hate to cut things out.

  15. Happy almost Birthday, Brian! You are well on your way to 400 comments. I started reading each and every comment but stopped half way through…. what a following you have! My favorite SU tool is my table top cutter (although I do have the new trimmer too for smaller cuts!). I doubt that I will have to worry about you pulling my magic number for the win but did want to help towards your total count. Hugs….

  16. Happy birthday!!! I just turned the big 40 last year. 🙂

  17. Happy Birthday, Brian! My favorite SU item is the cardstock. I like the weight of it for cards. Love your blog

  18. Happy Early Birthday. Am going with group: Big Shot. What a wonderful tool! I do enjoy your projects and your sense of humor. Thanks for sharing!

  19. Well i didn’t think i was going to get to the bottom of all these comments so I could leave one! LOL! My most favorite thing is the Stampin’ write markers. I use them all the time, more than i actually use the stamp pads. Just love love love them! I hope your Birthday is extra special and i know your going to get alot of birthday wishes because of all the people you inspire. One of your biggest fans! Of all the blogs i get updates on, i go to your’s first to read! Enjoy this week leading up to your birthday! Birthday’s that have a 0 in them aren’t the end of the world! HA!

  20. Happy happy happy birthday – even if your bday isn’t until the weekend, I am beginning early to wish you a happy day! My absolutely favortite SU product is the Big Shot. Can’t live without it!

  21. Happy Birthday, Brian!! And many more….!!
I really, really like my Big Shot, with the Embossing folders, and the dies, and the paper, and the stamps…. really, how is a girl supposed to narrow it down to just one thing??
One thing I DON’T have yet is this beautiful paper trimmer!! ….

  22. Happy Birthday (week), crazy-eyed Brian!! Definitely omit me from the blog-candy chance, but I’m gonna help you make it to 400!
First, I’m going to point out what a wonderful BIRTHDAY GIFT you’re getting here with all this love–and you definitely deserve it! –Terri

  23. Then I’m going to post again to tell you my current fave SU product: Pool Party–the color. Cardstock, ink pad, marker, any accessory with Pool Party, and any DSP with Pool Party in it. LOVE this color and will be crying my eyes out come the new catalog. Hoping they’ll bring it back as a permanent color eventually!

  24. Happy Birthday Brian. Hope you have a grand day and that all your wishes come true. I two will order $25.00 in goodies for your big day. I must say I love the card stock and my big shot the most. I mean what’s not to like of the Stamping Up products and when we have great demonstrators like you sharing your talent and ideas well you just make it easy for us. So have a super Birthday.

  25. Happy Birthday Brian! I hope you have a wonderful week with little happy surprises along the way. I didn’t know people lived to be 400 anymore 🙂 You’re aging very gracefully. he he! I can’t live without matching color products. It’s the main reason that I am hooked on Stampin’ Up. I love not having to think and question if things match. They make it soooo easy. Happy Birthday!

  26. At least I am glad to find out that I am not the only one that likes to have a month long of celebrations for my birthday 🙂 . This is some pretty cool blog candy you are giving away! I would have to say my favorite thing from SU is all of the cool framelits they have come out with! I can’t wait to play with all of the new ones in the Spring Mini catalog! Happy Birthday!

  28. Gidday Brian. Happy, Happy Birthday Brian from “The Land Downunder”. Just to let you know there is life after that ‘0’ Birthday. Thanks for your humorous posts, they always give me a little chuckle!
Now, for the question at hand (although count me out of the the Blog Giveaway!). You make it really tough to narrow it down to one favourite product. Initially, I thought my adhesive Eraser. That’s a bit boring really but I can’t seem to make a card without using it. Maybe I’m just a bit of messy crafter!. But really, I have to agree with so many others, My Big Shot. What did I do before I owned one. I can’t seem to make a card without using it. I love using my Embossing Folders. It always gives a WOW when you open up the folder and see that gorgeous texture.

Have fun reading all your comments – and all your blog love. Keep doing what you are doing. You bring a smile to so many people.

  29. Happy birthday Brian! You are such a doll and deserve to have the very best “glitter free” birthday ever! As for my favorite tool, I would have to say my heat gun and embossing powders. Just tried out the vanilla scented emboss powder and can’t wait for my loved ones to open up their handmade, scented cards!

  30. WOW Brian, I agree with Sonny, I had to scroll aaaaall the way down here to post this morning. From all the comments I’ve see, I think the overwhelming mayority is about not being able to live without the Big Shot, mine was one of them. But I also read others about the SU dimentionals. I also love this little exagons, they are just the right size and thikness to add a lot of dimmention to cards. I had some I bought at craft stores around here and they are so thick that I have to add more postage to my cards so, thank goodness for this little sticky exagons!!!!!

  31. Love your blog – very informative & helpful. I check in most every day. Loved to see all your card swap pictures.

  32. What’s not to love that SU offers. However, that paper trimmer could be my new favorite. Hint, hint! Happy Birthday!!

  33. My daughters birthday is next week as well. So, just in case, Happy Birthday. I don’t have any favorites as yet, but so far I am loving the embossing folders.

  34. Not sure how many comments you are up to. If you want 400, I could sit here a few hours and probably get you there but that would not be nearly as fun as seeing all of these people from all over the globe posting here. You are up to 139 which is a cool number, working on half way there. I would suppose that would make you pretty pleased because you know so many of us are trying to make this 400 thing happen for you. Best wishes for a happy birthday Brian, those zeros on the end of your new age are for delightful years! Enjoy!

  35. Another tool that I love is the Stampin Scrub. What would I do without that?

Best wishes for a wonderful birthday!

  36. Wow, Brian, it really is a long “scroll” to the bottom of this Happy Birthday blog page!
I’ve not read every single new entry since my entry yesterday morning, but I have scanned a number of them … and as I did that, I’d be shaking my head and thinking “oh, yes, I LOVE the new stamp pads !” and “oh, I LOVE the card stock!” and “oh, I LOVE …!” SU!
just offers so many great products!! And now,
With every swipe of my trimmer, I question whether I NEED to ask for that for CHRISTMAS or should I wait and ask for some other awesome item! So many choices with more just peeking around the corner in the next catalog!!! YIKES!!!
And the countdown continues to your birthday, Brian 😉
Have a WONDERFUL day and may your blog continue to overflow with comments!

  37. My favorite “product” is the SU demonstrators like you. They give so much of their time and talents and are such an inspiration with all their ideas. Without your blog and ideas (and a few of my other favorites) my brain would be dry of ideas. If my demonstrator had not been raised in my house (my daughter’s best friend) I would switch to you!!! Thank you for all you do! AND HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! With much appreciation and affection, Gail Spence

  38. I love that you share your creativty with us and that your cards are so doable.

  39. Happy Birthday….I hope you make your 400 comments.

  40. Here’s another Happy Birthday wish for you and I am sure you will make the 400 comments. I am placing my order with you this morning as part of your Birthday Wish.

  41. What an amazing giveaway!!!! Happy Birthday to you 🙂 I cannot live without my decorative label punch. I really love how I can just stamp a sentiment punch it out with that label punch and it just jazzes up a card 🙂

  42. Love your blog – it’s a bright spot in my day. Happy Birthday! My favorite stampin up product is my stampin scrubber pad. I’ve used other cheapo pads and can’t go back now.

  43. What an awesome b’day celebration! My trimmer just arrived yesterday…woohoo! Hmm, my favorite SU! item is my Early Espresso ink pad…I love browns and this one tops them all…it’s the new black for me 🙂 Hope you have a fantastic birthday!

  44. My five year old daughter, Kate, who enjoys stamping with me says her favorite thing to use are the punches- and boy does she use punches and layers the heck out of them! I have actually gotten a few tips from her myself. Thanks for letting us play along!!

  45. Happy Birthday Brian!! My Birthday is in December too! Punches are my favorite SU Product. I use them all of the time!! Thanks for the chance to win that beautiful Trimmer!!

  46. Brian, May your birthday be as happy as your are. The BIG birthday’s are the best – make yours a memory. My favorite SU thing is their whole concept – picking one thing is virtually impossible for me, but since that is what you asked I will have to say the INK. Their rainbow of colors are fantastic. Please don’t put me in for the trimmer – but I did want to add to your blog count. Cheers!

  47. Happy Birthday day!
I love love love the distressing tool– I use it a tone-I have the old one on the ball chain.. Can’t wait to purchase the new tool

  48. Just popping in to say I am so excited everytime I check back to see how many people are responding. Keep it up! We are only on the second day, and we are 37.5% toward my goal. (It’s never a great idea to set goals that you aren’t in control of). I just hope you all know how much I appreciate you.

  49. I so love that you showcase others cards and talk about what is so wonderful about them. It shows you pay attention to the details and appreciate each part of it! You are such a sweet and generous man! Keep up the good work, you deserve all these wonderful comments!

  50. Fun to check in with everyone once a day while having morning coffee. I was drawn to the whole paper crafting by all the fun, patterened papers out there. I have to admit I am partial to Stampin’Up products because it is a bit like Garamanimals – lots of colors are related and easy to matchup!
