BLOG CANDY! Free Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer

candy2Boy, oh, boy! Have I got a treat for you today?

I am not one of those people who celebrates my birthday for a month at a time. “OOOOOHHHH! Only 45 days until my birthday. I can’t wait…OOOOOOHHHH! It’s finally my birthday month..my birthday week…did you know it’s my birthday?!” Yes! We all know. Frankly, I find that behavior exhausting. By the time that person’s birthday gets here, everyone is THANKFUL it’s over. And then you hear, “OOOOOOHHHH! 364 days until my birthday.” Geez! Will it ever end?

All that to tell you I have a birthday next week. This is a big one (it has a zero in it), so everyone is asking what I want to do for my birthday! Here’s a list of what I want:

  • I want to have a delicious dinner at Annie’s Thai Restaurant (the best food…ever).
  • I want to get together to stamp with friends
  • I want everyone who reads this post to buy $25 of Stampin’ Up! product from my demo site.

Since the third bullet point AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN (I totally get it! – you either have a wonderful demonstrator to whom you are loyal, or you are a demonstrator yourself), I’ve decided that I am going to give YOU a gift for my birthday. Here’s a subtle hint at what I’m giving away: 20121209-191954.jpg

Does this photo capture “crazy eyes” well enough? I was attempting to capture the maniacal energy of a used car commercial. **If you film, edit or produce used car commercials, then please reread that last sentence, substituting “the maniacal energy of a used car commercial” with “the maniacal energy of a crazed clown”.** ***If you are a crazed clown who makes used car commercials, then I am so sorry to offend you. You are special.***

OK! OK! Let me get to it! Leave me a comment on this blog post (as many as you want – all week long) to let me know what your ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Stampin’ Up! product is. Is it a punch? Is it a tool? Is it a color? What can you NOT live without? My goal is to have 400 comments on this post (and that’s not a hint as to which birthday I will be celebrating). Won’t you help me make my birthday wish come true?

On Sunday morning, after I wake up and sing a couple of rounds of “Happy Birthday to Me!”, I will announce the winner of my very first Blog Candy Giveaway! The winner will receive a BRAND NEW Stampin’ Trimmer as a gift from me. Yipee! Doodle! Dee! (Sorry to all my followers in Canada, England and Japan, I can only ship to a U.S. address).

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

And so begins the last countdown until my very special day…

🙂

  1. Hmmm. . . I have so many favorites that it’s hard to choose. I think that my favorite for today (it changes each day!) is any of the SU punches. They make card-making quick and clean! Happy Almost Birthday Brian!!!

  2. Wasn’t going to leave a comment Brian, since I’ve ordered two of these…BUT, the gal I gifted one with is soooo excited over it I thought maybe another of my friends would love one, too (great Christmas present, dontchaknow!). You’re soon to be 40? Oh my, only a kid ;)… Have a very Merry Christmas/Birthday celebrations.

  3. Oops, forgot to mention my favorite (or in reality, one of my favorite SU things)…the owl and bird builder punches (oops…that’s 2 😉 They are so versatile…even if you just use snippets of their pieces.

  4. Oh, my!!! My favorite thing changes from day to day…. But one thing I adore is the Big Shot. Of course, that is really a bunch of things because you can’t use it without the dies, framelits or embossing folders…..

  5. I’m here again today as I would really love to win! Happy Monday.

  6. Another day closer to the big day! Happy Birthday!
My next most go to tool after the Simply Scored would be . . . Dimensionals. There are other brands available in stores but none like SU’s. Just the right thickness and size (or sizable with a snip).
    Another post closer to 400!!!!

  7. Hi from OZ and a very happy Birthday to you. I enjoy your blog and follow each post. Favourite is the Big Shot. Have a great birthday and hoe all your wishes come true.

  8. Hello again, Brian. WOW, this blog candy thing is really taken a life of it’s own, but then again, this candy is hard to resist. I just thougth of another SU product I really, really love and am happy to own is the Window Punch and the Modern Lable Punch. This two wonderful tools compliment each other so well it’s like they were made for each other. Anyway, I might come back again when I think of another SU product that I just can’t live without.

  9. What a fun and easy way to win blog candy! Happy Birthday

  10. Happy Birthday Brian! My favorite Stampin’ Up! Product at the moment is probably the Big Shot. It gets a lot of use. My 2nd favorite would have to be that wonderful new paper trimmer–LOVE it!!!

  11. Another favorite SU product of mine is the stamp cleaner. It smells so good and it’s the only stamp cleaner I use. Happy Birthday!

  12. Happy Birthday to you! I happen to love the quality of the Stampin Up Cardstock! Nothing beats it.

  13. I’m in Love with Baja Breeze like you!!

  14. You make me smile, Brian King! I hope you get to do everything you want on your upcoming birthday! Love the pic and the fact that you’re sharing this milestone with all your readers! My favorite SU product would have to be the punches. They’re so quick and easy to use, which makes card making so much fun! Hope you have a wonderful birthday, friend!

  15. Hmm, it is hard to pick a favorite product. MY favorite thing about stampin up is how the products coordinate. Paper matches ink matches ribbon etc. Stamps match punches. They make it so easy to make beautiful cards. Happy birthday!!

  16. This is probably the most BORING favorite thing, but mine is the stampin scrub. i have the old version, but NEVER stamp without it. Of course there a MANY other more exciting SU products I love, but I don’t think I could live without the scrubber! Happy birthday and thanks for this chance to win the new and amazing paper trimmer!

  17. Happy Birthday, Brian, enjoy your day! I love the way SU coordinates everything so the paper, ink, ribbon, embellishments all go together so beautifully – makes everything look elegant!

  18. OK – I’ve been stamping today and I have yet another favorite item – the pearls!!! They add such glam to projects and I love the look of them so much, that I feel I have to take it easy and not go nuts on applying them so I don’t run out. Love them!!!

  19. That’s a hard one Brian, as there are so many, but I would have to say my Big Shot is a lifesaver. I don’t know what I did without one (and I did go without for many years) when I first started stamping and scrapbooking. I love it and all the cool dies, framelits and cute folders they have for it!

  20. Again, I must add a comment to let you know that your comments make me smile. I am so happy for all the kind words you have to say but mostly for the fact that you are adding comments. We’re almost at 200, so I’m going to post this comment, and then I’m going to add my comments about what my favorite SU! items are.

  21. Hmm…I was gonna say the Big Shot, but since I stamped for several years BBS (before big shot), I know I could live without it. I could not, however go on in my swampy life without dimensionals! I rarely make a card without ’em.
    Happy birthday!

  22. What a great question, Brian! I’d have to say that my favorite thing about Stampin’ Up! is their color families. The fact that I can get paper, ink, ribbon, accessories, etc in colors that are consistent and coordinated makes this product unique and wonderful. I dare you to find the same shade of red in two products at Micha***’s. 🙂 That’s my favorite thing about SU!, but my favorite item would have to be the Stampin’ Dimensionals. Rarely do I ever make a card without at least one. They are a must, and I love them.

  23. Happy Birthday, Brian! I really like the modern label punch – I seem to use it a lot. Love your blog.

  24. I have never left a reply… you are my first! My favorite Stampin’ UP! product is the Big Shot!!! I rarely make a card without using it for something! Thanks for leaving such inspiring ideas! Teresa

  25. Happy soon to be birthday, Brian!!! Hope you have a wonderful day however you spend it! One of things I love is the Stampin’ Up ribbon – the real narrow stuff with lines on it. I’m sure there’s a better description but I bet you know what I mean!!! Do you also know what I mean when I say, “PICK ME”!!!???? LOL!

  26. Loved your comment, Brian! I completely agree! An avid stamper can’t go wrong when using Stampin Up products because you know you will have matching c/s, ink, accessories. It saves A LOT of time. (I know– I used to work in a brick and mortar stamp store.) I really appreciate the Color Coach, and I appreciate the chance to win this trimmer!

  27. Happy Birthday! It is hard to choose a favorite there are so many. If I can only choose one I would say the SU paper. It’s high quality and lots of colors to choose from.

  28. O.K. I already commented that I love the punches. So….Hmmmm…..Got it….I think my next fave would be the inks. I just love color and S.U. has the best and brightest colors.
    Happy Birthday

  29. I think some others have mentioned this but I love the catalog ….my big catty has post it notes and smiley stickers all stuck on the pages inside …when I first received it I didn`t want to get the cover messed up because it was so nice (AND that is still pretty ) but the inside is my wish book, idea motivator , color selector and on and on . I just have to put in a plug for that!!!!!

  30. OH !!!! btw….HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!

  31. Ok, another fantastic SU product are the Markers. Because they are water based they are perfect for water coloring, in fact that is what I use to color all my cards.

  32. Another day closer to the big day!

  33. I love all the coordinating color items and accessories also. Makes my life so much better (and easier). Happy Birthday. (I want that trimmer.) I have a granddaughter that will be 16 next week.

  34. I love how all the colors in the products coordinate together. Enjoy your birthday!

  35. Good morning, Brian! Yes, it’s another day closer to your BIG birthday! The excitement is really growing! Can’t you feel it? 🙂
As I worked on a project last night, I, too, was reminded how very much I love how everything SU! coordinates so beautifully!
For those of us who used to really struggle with that (I was one of them in a HUGE way!),
Stampin’ UP! took a big hurdle out of the way to designing beautiful cards!
My Day #3 SU! favorite is their awesome color coordination from card stock to inks to DSP (with notation of colors which go with each pack) to ribbon and buttons & brads! Hurray!
So Happy Almost Birthday, again, Brian!

  36. I love the bundles! The Ornament Keepsakes Bundle has everything you need to make Christmas cards merry and bright AND quick and easy.

  37. I also cannot live without my big shot!

  38. Because I love embossing, I would have to say my heat tool! Running a close second is the Big Shot, though.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

  39. My favorite SU product is the crumb cake 8 1/2X 11 cardstock. It is perfect for card bases and coordinates with everything!

  40. It’s hard to pick just one product but I want you to hit 400. Happy birthday!

  41. Living in Hawaii I would never have occasion to use this image, but you did it very well. Keep up the good work and Have a happy birthday!

  42. I am such a fan of the new foam pads. There’s nothing that can’t be done with them. Happy birthday, Brian!

  43. I love love LOVE the designer series paper. All of it! I love how it all goes together so beautifully and makes my projects look oh, so amazing!

  44. Happy Birthday to you!!!
    Happy Birthday to you!!!
    Happy Birthday, dear Brian!!!
    Happy Birthday to you!!!

    Keep up the awesome stamping!!!

And I love everything about SU! Couldn’t function without it…..

  45. Happy Birthday Brian!
I would have to say one of my favorite things that Stampin’ Up sells is the fabulous punches. They save a lot of time!

  46. I also really enjoy the embossing folders. Even if I don’t have the right designer paper to go with my card, I can still add some “pop” to my background.

  47. Oh My Goodness! I’m having a ‘0’ adorned birthyear this year too! Hope your month is a fantastic one! I subscribe to the same philosophy about birthdays. The more elongated the better! When I turned 30, I threw myself a surprise party! (didn’t want to wait for someone else to organize it 🙂 ).
I’m thinking that my Big Shot is my fav SU product! How can anyone craft without one??? I ask you??!
I really want that beautiful paper trimmer! Good luck to me… and Happy Birthmonth to you!

  48. First, before I start rambling about my fav SU! product, let me wish you a wonderful birthday. Love your blog – and fabulous sense of humor (who would have known…a funny accountant). Next, a small scold – make another video – fast! Last, my favorite product … (it’s so hard to play favorites) – love my Big Shot a LOT but I kind of can’t make a card with those dependable dimensionals. Simple elegance all in sticky foam.

  49. Okay, so your post numbers are rolling right along! You’ll make it to your 400th birthday–OOPS, I mean 40TH birthday number very soon! 🙂 –Terri Orr

  50. And I thought I’d throw in another SU favorite. (I have several that I am over-the-top crazy about.) I really, really, really love that Top Note Die. So very versatile. –Terri Orr
