Yesterday, Stampin’ Up! launched a new kit called Dude, You’re Welcome! I introduced you to it, but there’s a good chance you were distracted by all the pictures from Leadership that I also shared with you. I am one of only a few people who currently owns this kit – during Leadership, all the male demonstrators (I think there were three of us) and supporting male spouse demos (there were quite a few) were given this set.
So here’s the deal: the kit is an “all the basics bundle” so you can include the man in your life (your husband, boyfriend, father, son) in your stamping habit. There are four stamps (double-sided), grey envelopes, some thick pieces of cardstock, a gray stamp pad and a silver badge, all packaged in an inconspicous black box. Here’s what’s included in the kit:
This is a great novelty item for the man in your life if you are happy with a card that looks like this (I made this card with all the components of the kit and my Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker):
Would you be swept off your feet to receive this card? I think any man can do better than that, though. Here’s a card I made with the same stamp but with a couple of add-ons:
Can you tell a difference between the two cards? It’s like that game in the back of the kid’s magazine at the dentist’s office. Can you list 28 differences? Put your pencils down – I don’t have a checklist, so please don’t try to find the differences. 🙂
Quick tip: I hand-trimmed the gray block. I then positioned it on my Stampin’ Trimmer and cut the inside edges of the blank space. The trimmer blade has a little arrow on it that allows you to know where you are cutting when you aren’t cutting the entire piece. I ran the ribbon through the holes for this completed look.
Stamp sets: Dude, You’re Welcome Kit, Ciao, Baby! Inks: Basic Gray, Real Red Papers: Real Red, Basic Gray, Whisper White, More Amore Accessories: Petite Curly punch, 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (Real Red), Stampin’ Dimensionals, Small Heart punch
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Brian
Have you forgotten? I’ve not received the first card for my One-for-One Valentine’s Day card swap. You raised your hand and yelled “me! me! me!” so I have to assume you are working on it. For more information, click here. I’m expecting big things from you.
You really stepped up that second card! I love it! I still can’t imagine my husband making either one though…lol
I think this idea is so Cool!
Love how you ran that ribbon through the paper, very clever, Brian. I definitely like the second card, it’s very pretty in a manly sort of way. I can’t imagine my dear hubby sitting down with me to stamp either, he just stays out of my stamping zone and when I show him my creations, he just sighs and says: “that’s real pretty, chiquita”. Coming from him, that’s a real compliment.
Good idea ! SU is the first to do this that I know of …. now if they had included some kind of machine or something sharp, poke your eye kind of tool , something that makes a noise that requires ear plugs and some stickers that are shaped like footballs, fishing poles, golf clubs, or mountain bike that would appeal to the males in my life. Oh, and throw in some chips !!!!
Card will go in the mail today , I was holding off because I didn`t think you would want all 744 of your followers cards to overwhelm your mail picker upper person while you were off learning more brilliant things?
Post Script….. I used my Product Shares to make my Valentine cards ….just saying ..and I have lots more …lots left over…. thank you Brian !
Guess I’m one of the lucky ones. My husband has made me three cards using my Stampin Up! products. I have saved them all. He even added ribbon to one card.
I like your version better Brian. It is a much happier card.
LOVE IT!!! What a difference a day makes or different concept! 🙂 Nicely done Brian!
One of the things I love about you is that you are always challenging yourself. I love what you did with this set. Beautiful!
I love bright, cheerful colors and you certainly stepped up to the plate with this Valentine’s card. Great job, as usual, Brian.
