On Saturday, I shared Day 1 of the cards from our Summertime One-for-One Swap. What a bunch of beauties! See them here.
Please look them over, admire their beauty and then let the creators know how beautiful their cards are (I already know you’ll be kind with your comments, but I am going to request it, anyway). If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment on the card when it debuts here. That way, your card creator will be sure to see your comments.
The collection of cards I’m sharing might not all have current Stampin’ Up! products, but every card gives good ideas for color combinations, layouts, techniques. WIthout any further ado, here is the second batch of your beautiful cards:
Please let these artists know how much you love their beautiful cards.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Brian
Very nice, they are ALL beautiful! Thanks for creating and allowing Brian to share with us.
Super color combos ans sentiments!! 🙂
wow, talented bunch 🙂 Love the colour combo on Gigi Gubernaths card. Maria I love the window effect with lovely as a tree! Love that stamp set and its brought it into the summer for me! also love the knotted string embellishment on the open seas card you made. A load of lovely cards again.
Thank you Vicki, you are sweet. That knot is called a “Sailor’s Knot” and I saw a tutorial on U-tube on how to make it. Lovely as a Tree and The Open Sea are some of my favorite stamp sets.
The new In-colors are wonderful.
I agree with Vicki, Maria, your cards are gorgeous and the sailor’s knot is the PERFECT touch for your card. Brian, thanks for sharing these amazing cards. Happy summer to all!
Thank you so much Ann, it’s so much fun to participate and share this craft we love so much. Brian make it all possible, he is an amazing host.
All of this cards are beautiful, I’m always thankful to Brian for encouraging us to create and share with each other, our talents and creativity. I see one of the cards I received and it’s the one from Ellen Berkson from Peoria, AZ. Thank you so much Ellen, your card is really awesome. I love the way you snipped those little chairs and the roaring fire looks fabulous, did you used clear embossing powder on it? We love camping so, when I took your card out and looked at it, it took me back to those wonderful camping trips with our grandchildren, sitting around the fire, singing and eating S’mores. Thanks again for your fun and beautiful card.
Yay- I love Ellen’s card, too! I’m so blessed to have her in my downline!
what a beautiful collection and opportunity to share the talent of other great stampers. Hi, Maria!
Hi Mary: Indeed, Brian’s swaps are fabulous, it’s so much fun to get the cards in the mail and double the fun to see them in his blog. Have a blast at the Convention!!
Well. I received that pretty card from Gigi Gubernath ! Love the minty green with the black . . And I want you to know I ordered the Chalk Talk Framelets after I saw your card . That ribbon added just the right touch . I haven`t used mine yet but, you gave me the push . Thank you Brian for sending me the beautiful cards from Gigi and Valerie !
So glad to hear you received my card. I was also impressed when I used the Chalk Talk stamp. Love the new in-colors and ribbon.
This is for Maria ! Will you stop participating …. Your cards are too advanced for us !! Just teasing you my friend . (giggle) Your cards are always so so special . And you were right about that knot when you told me about it . It does add just the right touch to that card ! But, seriously what`s next ? I can just hear the knitting needles clicking when you get the new Sweater Weather dsp !!!
LOL!!!!! Oh Sonny, you are a riot!! I can’t wait for the next swap, which still is a few months away. Thank goodness for you my friend, because I love swapping cards with you and the other gals a few times a month.
All of them are so wonderful but if I had to choose a favorite, the one with the window just blew me away!! Great job.
OMG, I just love all these cards. I hope this isn’t too long, but I must comment on them. The camera paper is adorable and the tiny cut out one. Perfect word – Smile.
The color combos of green and black and the blue and yellow are so striking. The camping card makes me feel relaxed just looking at it. The twirly card . . . quite advanced for me. The window card and curtains are gorgeous. I noticed the score line in the curtains too. The knotted twine, what detail! The card I received is next from Pat Stewart. Very special thanks a bunch to you! Oh, maybe I should say “I can’t thank you enough.” I love the layers and the masked stamping in the back ground. The black pop on the last card really stands out too. I don’t think to use black all year, until Halloween. I hope to try many of these new ideas. This was better than Pinterest (Although I am addicted to Pinterest!) because I felt like we are connected through Brian.
Thank you Nancy for the kind comment about my card….that is funny because your card is the one I received!! But it is not black but Chocolate Chip….I do love this swap….thank you so much Brian…it is fun to be creative and see what we receive back.
Tammy, Oh, yes I could see how Chocolate Chip would go nicely. You know these computers don’t do us justice. Glad you like my card. =)
Amazing cards – every one of them!
Beautiful cards ladies, it would be difficult to pick a favorite. I do love the sailors knot on Maria’s card, what a perfect embellishment for this stamp set.
You are all extremely talented- thank you for sharing all of your brilliant ideas! Thanks to Brian as well- super job!
Love this group of cards…..and yes, the Sailor’s Knot was a stroke of genius, Maria!
Leishman, the little bitty camera is ADORABLE, the perfect bit of “pop”.
Thank you ALL for sharing your ideas with us, such wonderful cards!
Love the “Lovely as a Tree” stamp set, so Maria’s card took my eye. Loved the macrame knot on the sea card. The camera card, the sliding pinwheel, the EVERYTHING. Wow! I enjoy these swap exhibits. I may have to put one in these days, although I’m not sure I would measure up.
Hello Lois and thank you for your words. Please, consider participating in next swap, it’s fun because we all are able to learn from other stamper’s techniques and styles and, the icing on the card swaping cake is seeing our creations on Brian’s blog, now that’s a treat in itself.
Love, Love each and every card!! The effort! The creativity! So fun to look at and be inspired. I’m thinking that because this is a one-on-one swap, we can put our hearts into the cards. When we participate in group swaps, where we make 20 or more, we worry about having enough paper, enough embellishments, following the rules (if there are any), whether anyone will want to swap with us, etc. This swap is relaxed, fun, happy and I think it brings out the best in all of us.
I want to thank Leishman Williams for the cheery camera, smile please card! It made me smile.
Absolutely Amazingly Talented Participants! I am so impressed!
Just getting to a computer to type like a Mad Woman and say “Holy Moly”! Ladies these are incredible cards! What talent out there!
Thanks to all for the kind comments….I love all these swap cards…..Maria, you are amazing, I will have to look for you at Cafe Crop….but all the ladies did a great job.
Thanks for the new place to check out.
Hello Tammy and thank you for your kind words, I just love making cards so much and Brian has given all of us the chance to share this hobby we all love and learn from each other here on his amazing blog through this card swaps he has all year round.
Forgive my ignorance but, what is Café Crop??
Thanks again.
Cafe crop is a FaceBook page. Great for ideas.
WOW! These are all beautiful! I received the one from Pat and love the colors she used.
I also received the one with the sailor’s knot from Maria….please don’t hate me! It is even better in real life than on the blog!
Thank you, Brian, for doing this and allowing me to join in the fun.
I was excited to open today post and see what cards were to be displayed…
Who does not like cameras? Leishman’s card is so bright and cheerful!
Gigi’s card is so eye catching with the new Pistachio Pudding and Black. Wow! I did not think I needed that stamp set…I am having to reconsider because this card is a wowezer!
Jennifer, how bright and happy your card is! I love how your achieved a CAS card with masking. I do not do this technique nearly enough. Thanks for inspiring me to work on techniques I am not good at.
Ellen, is your card all one layer? I am amazed at how you did that! Did you mask your scene? and sponge/brayer your background? It is so impressive, I wish I could see it in person!
Natalie! A SPINNING PINWHEEL! OMG! How fun, and a real treat to the recipient! I LOVE interactive card! 🙂
Hi Maria! Ok serioiusly? I back Sonny statement! 🙂 Let me wipe the drool off my chin…Ok now. Your window scene it quite stunning and rather unique, I’m sure the recipient will love it. I also love your nautical card as well. Would you believe that I have been working for about a week to try to master that knot for a nautical card using that same stamp set. I have been working on for my dad who is a retired Navy Officer. The card is complete except for that stinkin’ knot. aarrgghh! How did you do that knot?
Pat, how fun is your card? Is that DSP or did you create that background paper? It is so bright and colorful and would totally brighten up anyone’s day.
Tammy, You watercolor image is gorgeous and I LOVE the color your chose for your card. I LOVE that elusive “key tag” punch that I can NOT get my hands on! I joined SU just after it was retired and it is a big regret that I do not have it. 🙁
Thanks Brian for another great day of swaps! 🙂
These are fabulous, Brian…thank you for sharing! Some wonderful inspiration!
This second batch of cards swapped are again a bumper crop. Each one is worthy of casing. Thank you Natalie for the really cute spinner card, with Austrailian coins of course. I love it and have it proudly displayed on my desk.
Maria, still in awe of your talent. I love the window pane and the scoring on the curtain. Such wonderful details.
Lynn
Hi Lynn
I am so pleased you like it, I had a ball trying to come up with a summer time idea in the middle of our winter
These are amazing! Thank you all for your creativity & thanks for sharing these Brian.
See you Soon at convention!
Great cards! Always a treat to see what other people create. Thanks for sharing.
Brian, these are darling, thank you for sharing them…. only wish there was a link to the blogs to get some directions…. So many creative card makers…. Thanks again for sharing.
Another round of real beauties today. Good Job to everyone.
What incredible cards! I missed the submission deadline for this swap, and it’s probably a good thing. I’m going to need to start planning now for a card for the next swap! Wow!
Gigi, such an eye-catching card! I love the monochromaticism. The vertical DSP strip and then the beautiful ribbon bring incredible visual interest. And then the black really makes the whole thing pop. Love it! Thanks for contributing.
Natalie, those pinwheels are so fun! But I’ve shied away from putting one in the mail. But yours sure made the trip (from down under!), still looking so cheerful! You’ve inspired me.
Oh, Maria! Those curtains are absolutely stunning! Someday when I’m feeling v-e-r-y brave I’ll have to attempt to CASE this one. And I, too, love the knot on the Open Sea card. What a perfect touch!
And your different layers, Tammy, complement each other so nicely. I’m assuming you used watercoloring on the flowers. I’ve not gotten brave enough to try that technique except in a class. It is beautiful!
Brian, thank you so much for providing this venue. I think somebody else mentioned this – it would be marvelous to have the materials used and the dimensions!
Thank each one of you for participating. Now I’m off to Pinterest and splitcoaststampers.com to hunt for each of you and see more of your handiwork!
Thank you all so much for your comments. I am the extremely lucky duck who got Maria’s window/tree card. I was so excited when I opened the envelope! It is perfect in every way. Brian did not know this, but I am nutso about trees. I keep asking Stampin Up to put out more tree sets, big ones, little ones, fat ones, skinny ones, ones with leaves, ones without, desert trees, forest trees, Trees, Trees, Trees. Maria, your card is just breathtaking! Really, I am in total awe. I am afraid to case it because I can think of nothing I can do to change it up. It’s so unique.
On the camping card I embossed the chairs with clear then the fire (twice – once just the basic fire stamped in Sahara sand and then again after I colored it with markers and used an embossing pen. Then I brayered the night sky and then put the paper pieces on the chairs. Appreciate your kind words. I would love to meet all of you at convention (maybe swap a card?) Please let me know if that is possible. Also, I want to comment on Jennifer’s card. I really love the unique use of the flower from secret garden. I stared at that set for awhile and never once did I have such a stunning idea as that!
Love Ellen’s card with the fire and chairs. I will CASE this one for my husband’s birthday since we will be going camping. Also love Maria’s window card and Natalie’s pinwheel card; too cute.
Thank you for everyone that commented on my card and a huge thanks to Brian for inspiring us daily with all his beautiful and creative cards. I am looking forward to the next swaps and love how we can all be connected through our creativity. Your cards have definitely been an inspiration to me. Natalie
