The Watercolor Wonder Note Cards and Envelopes are one of my favorite things in the Occasions Catalog. With their beautifully watercolored backgrounds, it couldn’t be simpler to create a quick-and-easy card. Who’da thunk we’d be talking about watercoloring and quick-and-easy in the same breath? Well, we are.
There are 20 cards in a pack of Watercolor Wonder Note Cards – 5 each of four patterns. The card I made today uses one of the five patterns – an oval surrounded by a Daffodil Delight watercolor pattern. Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Two Stamps from One. The above image is from an Occasions Catalog stamp set called Blessed Easter. The single stamp (available only in wood mount) includes this image of three tulips and the sentiment “Wishes for a Blessed Easter.” While I certainly like both the image and the sentiment, I realized I wouldn’t always use both together at the same time. I cut the stamp into two individual stamps, mounted the flowers and used Clear-Mount Cling Foam to make the sentiment a clear-mount stamp. Yipee! Who doesn’t love a two-for-one deal?
- Watercoloring. I honored the watercolor paper by watercoloring the image. Aren’t I considerate of my stampin’ materials? I stamped the tulips with StazOn Jet Black ink and lightly filled in the flowers with Calypso Coral ink with my AquaPainter. I then pulled Tangerine Tango onto my AquaPainter and added this darker shade, pulling from the base of the flower and making sure I didn’t extend to the top of the flower. The two colors combined well to complete this image.
- Blendabilities. I love watercoloring with my AquaPainter, but the face of Stampin’ Up! watercoloring is changing soon. While at Leadership, we were introduced to Blendabilities, Stampin’ Up!’s upcoming markers (sold in 12 Stampin’ Up! colors). They are wonderful, and I can’t wait to share them with you when they are released. Woo hoo!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I will be headed back to Atlanta today, and I can’t wait to share about my Stampin’ Up! Leadership experience.

Lovely!
Brian, I can attest to the beauty of this card base. I received my swatch books and DSP product share the other day. (Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!) This card and envelope were part of the share. The Watercolor Wonder Note Cards and Envelopes are just as Brian described … and on my wish list!
Your card is beautiful … great work with the AquaPainter! I generally shy away from mine, but it appears I should try to make friends with it 😉
Brilliantly created Brian!!! I’m glad to hear (and see!!!) that Tangerine Tango & Calypso Coral (both such bold colors!!!) blended so well on those awesome tulips!!! And so many options when we break up stamps like this, thus allowing them to be combined with other images and sentiments… the possibilities are endless!!! 🙂 I can hardly wait for your return to see pictures of your adventures!!! Have a safe trip back to Atlanta!!!!!
I received my Shares (love them ) and these note cards were included . What a nice surprise ! Here is the corker ….I didn`t realize they are done with WC paper ! Guess I should have read the description better in the catty . What fun !
I like your card done in those colors . It makes a pretty spring presentation .
Happy Homecoming !
Beautiful tulip watercoloring and Stampin’ Up! did a fabulous job making this stamp! It’s one of my favorite images in the Occasions Catalog!
Hi Brian:
What a CAS card this is! Perfect for that last minute “gee I forgot to send a thank you” card to Aunt Zelda conundrum! I haven’t yet had a chance to really look closely at my shares but now that I know it contains some of these cards I’ll have to make it a point to sit down and take the package apart. You have a safe return and I’m sure Bandit will be right at the front door waiting for you!
Okay, on my next order. Beautiful card too Brian. Looking forward to hearing about your trip.
Very pretty! I’ve been eyeing the Blessed Easter stamp and this clinches it for me. : )
Brian it’s BEAUITIFUL , and that’s a great idea to cut off the sentiment Cause I thought the same , I was just put another one on top , but your idea is super better!!!!
Love how you water color your flowers , real pretty , going to try that , thanks Brian….
Have a safe trip back home …..
