I’ve been in love with paper crafting for years. While the ink and ribbon are wonderful, it all starts with the paper, right? I love the feel of it, the color of it and the smell of it. OK, Stampin’ Up!’s paper doesn’t really have a scent – but if it did, I’m sure it would be de-licious!
My boss, Laura, is a crafty woman. Laura makes a lot of her clothes and is a master embroiderer. Is master embroiderer a thing? Is that too dramatic? Maybe I should just say she has an embroidery machine, and she’s really good at using it. In November 2012, Laura embroidered some amazing luggage tags as gifts for me to give as gifts at a training class in Wisconsin (she used now-retired Stampin’ Up! fabric). You can see the tags here.
But I started this post talking about paper, so let’s get back to the paper. I love paper – and Stampin’ Up!’s paper is the best. Laura left this week for a Disney cruise. I made this placard for their door using Midnight Muse and Daffodil Delight card stock and my new-ly purchased e-cutter:
Over the past year, Laura has purchased quite a bit of card stock from me and uses the paper to make placards for our doors at work. While these images are from her embroidery machine, the rigid card stock makes a wonderful foundation for these placards that rest above our names on our doors. Here are just a few – see if you recognize the card stock colors:
And this is the placard outside the empty office where we keep our department’s Keurig coffee machine. I fondly named the room “Katy Keurig” but when this placard arrived, the room became “Kitty Purr-ig”. We couldn’t stop laughing over that one. 🙂
In summary, paper is great. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
