Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Just Hangin’ Out. I am guilty. Sometimes I get an idea in my head, and I just can’t stop myself. As soon as I saw this color combination, my mind went right to this pair of images from Chalk Talk. They seem perfectly suited for Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey. Instead of having these images float in the middle of the page (and instead of stringing them on twine or ribbon), I had them hang on a band from Wondrous Wreath. They’re just hanging out.
- Can You Place My Accent? Sometimes colors blend together perfectly when paired with the right images. Tangelo Twist just looked so bold when paired with the other elements of this card, so I chose to use it only as an accent – a dab in the center of the flower from Petite Petals and two small flowers on the emblem. It took a lot of snipping, but I was happy with the little pop of Tangelo Twist.
- Subtle Fold. The centerpiece of this card is a long piece of Mossy Meadow, folded back over itself with a little piece of Designer Series paper over top of it. In my mind, this was going to have a significant impact on the face of this card – when it was all said and done, though, it just looks like a panel on top of another panel. Not what I envisioned, but I still like it.

Another WOW card in my book Brian. Really perfect in every way. Thanks for inspiring me once again.
I love this one !
So soft and pretty. Counting those layers, Brian! 🙂
So pretty!! You are the layer king.
Great card. Love how you use the colors.
🙂
You made a great card with a great color combination. The little hit of Tangelo Twist just moved it over the top. ( I like Tangelo Twist though I find it’s pretty powerful in big amounts. Perfect for a pop of color!)
My kind of card ! It is all in the details ! I love love detailed cards ! I like to scan a card to find details that the card artist used to make the finished project . You did it today ,my friend ! Can I Case it ?
Hmm..I counted 11 layers, including the pretty Baker’s Twine and the Flower, you are indeed the King of layers. I love the colors and how you used them, I was just commenting on Susan’s blog that I don’t usually use sentiments as a focal point in my cards but this particular images are really beautiful for that. I love the beautiful design on the tag behind the sentiment and the subtle touches of Tangelo Twist on it.
Another truly beautiful creation Brian, thank you for sharing.
Pretty. And with a set I don’t use enough. Nice idea, thanks!
You snipped those elements of Tangelo Twist? This is one over the top awesome card, Brian. Beautiful take on that sketch!
Fabulous card, Brian. I love the little touches of Tangelo. It’s such a strong color that it can easily overwhelm a card, but you showed us how you can use a really strong color as as a highlight and make it pop. So glad you joined us at the Paper Players this week

Love it…Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
What can I say “Snippy McSnipperton”, great job I love this card. I love the pop you get from the Tangelo Twist. Hello Honey has been a favorite since the AC launch and Mossy Meadow provides a great overall background for your card. All the elements of a great card are here.
Awww, BRIAN , that so pretty friend ,love the color combinations, your just so good !!!!
Hugs to you and a great weekend my friend

What a subtly gorgeous card! I love the tiny pops of Tangelo Twist. Great use of the colors. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players.
I love how you used this “autumn” color combination for a card that is not season specific. I also love all the little details. Yes, I too am a fan of layers.
You did it again, the card and layers, and combination of the colors, mmmm, mossy meadow, LOVE it!
Love this card paper and layout!
A creative and clever take on the sketch! I love the sentiment you’ve used too. So glad you’ve joined us at Freshly Made Sketches again!
This card is just so pleasant to look at, so peaceful. I would love to receive this card from a friend. Love it.
Another fabulous card, Brian! Love your take on the sketch and perfect use of those colors. Glad to see you this week at FMS!
I think both cards are perfect, just as they are! Fabulous job; thanks for sharing!
