Boo! for Pals Paper Arts

This week’s sketch for The Pals Paper Arts is perfect for just about any occasion.  Since the weather has turned cooler, and since I’m enjoying lots of fun color combinations lately, I decided to let Halloween take center stage for this week’s project.  Here’s my card:

Bite Me, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PPA224

And here’s the PPA sketch that inspired my project:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Gradated Stripes.  The sketch calls for three bands across the face of the card, so I delivered three bands (I’m sometimes good about following a sketch).  Rather than just show three patterns or three coordinated colors, I decided to gradate my bands from dark to light (my eye goes from the darkest band and moves up the card).  More on that in just a second – see how I keep you wanting more?  🙂  If you like this color combination, feel free to save this:Color Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Simple Spider’s Web.  This spider’s web is from Bite Me, one of the photopolymer sets that’s not in any catalog – it was offered last year on a “while supplies last” timeframe.  Guess what – supplies are still lasting, so you can pick it up today!  The “boo” and spider are also from this set – perfect for a spooky (or beautiful) Halloween.
  • Tangerine Tango Epoxy Stickers.  These expoxy stickers are from the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Accessory Kit.  I love them!  Four sizes in four colors – I chose to put all four of the Tangerine Tango ones on the face of this card – and (I promised you I’d come back to this) – I attached them from largest-to-smallest from the bottom-up to coordinate with the gradation of the paper.  These shiny, little stickers really add a special “wow” to this card, don’t you think?
