Hanging out with Santa

The Holidays can be taxing on our brains – lots of things to remember, lots of things to take note of.  Timmy wants a train, I need eggs, brown sugar and vanilla for this recipe.  Wouldn’t it be nice to have a little notebook on-hand at all times so you could jot down notes or make quick lists?  Sounds like a fantasy world, right?  It’s not.  You CAN have it all this season – and make it fun at the same time.  Santa is hanging out on the cover of this notebook all season long:

Ornamental Pine, Visions of Santa, Stampin' Up!, Brian King   Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Hanging Posture.  I love to use stamps in ways they aren’t intended.  These fun and festive Santas are so much fun!  While they are designed to be dancers, this one wants to hang out.  To position the body correctly, you have to find his center of gravity and stamp him as such – you don’t want him to look like he’s doing pull-ups, right?  That’s the beauty of photopolymers – you can position images perfectly.  “Woo hoo!” for photopolymers.
  • Added Feature.  I made these books with my team’s Shoebox Swap last weekend and with my local Stamp Club yesterday.  For the Stamp Club, I added an All is Calm Snowflake Embellishment to the Baker’s Twine.  It adds a jingle-jangle to the outside of the notebook without making it so cumbersome that it won’t fit in your purse or backpack or briefcase (or whatever you carry around with you during the holidays).Ornamental Pine, Visions of Santa, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Measurements.  The red panel on this notebook front is 3-1/4″ x 5-5/8″.  The white panel is just 1/8″ smaller on either side.  To coordinate with the rounded corners of the notebook, I rounded each of the right-hand corner with my Project Life Corner Rounder punch.  Simple.  Easy.

I made these little books with my local Stamp Club yesterday.  We had such a good time making them – they all posed with their books so they could share them with you today.
