I couldn’t be happier with Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration selections (available January 6). There’s going to be a huge celebration during the first three months of 2015, and that makes me very happy – so happy that I had to make a card to share my excitement. Here’s my card (dedicated to Stampin’ Up! and my incredible blog readers):
This card features four new products – Best Day Ever Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-Bration item), Crazy About You photopolymer stamp set (Occasions), Hello You Thinlits (Occasions) and Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers (Occasions).
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Cropping with Thinlits. Here’s a tip for cropping perfect thinlits: place them with the cutting edge facing up and run them back and forth through the Big Shot three or four times with was paper. The sandwich looks like this: cutting platform, cutting plate, Thinlit (cutting edge up), wax paper, cardstock, cutting plate. After a few times through the Big Shot, the image came out crisp and clean.
- Cutting the flower. This flower, part of the Crazy About You stamp set, pairs perfectly with the 1-3/4″ Scallop circle punch. To add a little more dimension, I snipped from the indention from the punch to the center part of the flower. Easy snipping with a great impact.
- Color Combination. I love this Crushed Curry page from Best Day Ever Designer Series Paper, one of this year’s Sale-a-Bration offerings. The paper is a lighter version of Crushed Curry – so light that it contains hints Daffodil Delight. When paired with Basic Gray, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz, it’s perfect! If you like this combination, too, feel free to save this:
Stamp Sets: Crazy About You Papers: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Best Day Ever Designer Series Paper Inks: Calypso Coral, Basic Gray Accessories: 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle punch, Hello You Thinlits Dies, Flower Frenzy Bigz L die, Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers, 1/2″ Circle punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today!

I just love this card, Brian! Looking at it makes me happy 🙂 Well done!
Pretty nifty Brian…if I have to say so myself! 😉
Hi Brian,
This is a great card! I am curious what you use as an adhesive for the thinlits? I have a problem with excess glue showing up on the card stock which ruins the whole card then. 🙁
Thank you!!
Jodi
Hi Jodi, I used Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue – I’ve become a “pro” at making tiny, little drops in just the right places. 🙂 Others have found success with the Sakura Glue Pen, so I might give that a try at some point. For now, I’m happy with tiny drops of Tombow. I hope that helps.
Thank you for your quick reply Brian! For some reason I find the Tombow very hard to squeeze…I think I’m just weak. lol
Have a great weekend. 🙂
This card is wonderful!! I’m going to copy, hope you don’t mind! I love love the colors!!
