Great Color Combinations with the 2016-2018 In Colors

This past weekend, I introduced you to Stampin’ Up!’s 2016-2018 In Colors.  I compared the new colors with similar colors in Stampin’ Up!’s current color families and shared projects I made with each.  If you missed that fun post, you can check it out here.

Today I’m sharing some great suggestions for color combinations with these incredible new colors.  Let’s start by recapping the new colors:

2016-2018 In Colors, Stampin' Up!And here are some of my suggestions for color combinations with these colors.  I drew some inspiration from Designer Series Papers in the new Catalog, some inspiration from color combinations in past Designer Series Papers with similar colors and some inspiration from thin air.  I hope you find these combinations helpful as you start to incorporate these new colors into your projects

Dapper Denim

Different colors pull out different shades of Dapper Denim.  I love that it pairs so well with soft colors, rich colors and bright colors.

Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, So SaffronDapper Denim, Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon Dapper Denim, Cucumber Crush, Soft Sky Emerald Envy

Whether you are celebrating a birthday, sharing the excitement of Mardi Gras or sending thoughts of sympathy, Emerald Green proves to be a very versatile color that works well with lots of colors.

Emerald Envy, Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise Emerald Envy, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry Emerald Envy, Early Espresso, Delightful DijonFlirty Flamingo

Don’t let the name fool you – Flirty Flamingo can be just as sophisticated and serious as it can be fun.

Flirty Flamingo, Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango Flirty Flamingo, Tip Top Taupe, Basic Black Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Island IndigoPeekaboo Peach

Peekaboo is certainly a soft and subtle color – this is going to be one of my favorites – but it takes on new life when paired with bright colors.

Peekaboo Peach, Real Red, Daffodil Delight Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz, Soft SkySweet Sugarplum

Sweet Sugarplum is versatile, too!  It pairs as well with sweet & sassy as it does with bold & elegant.

Sweet Sugarplum, Melon Mambo, Pink Piroutte Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand Sweet Sugarplum, Basic Gray, Elegant EggplantDo any of these combinations stand out to you?  Will you use some of them for yourself?  I hope you’ll save these combinations and reference them when you sit down to work with these new In Colors.  Not only do these combinations showcase the versatility of these great colors, but they are a great starting point for a project.  🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!
