My WCMD Swaps

Well, our fourth annual World Card Making Day has come to a close.  We hosted it a month late to coordinate with Stampin’ Up!’s event here in Atlanta – what a super-fun event!  I’m honored that so many attended, and the abundance of smiles told me they had a great time.  That was followed by a Stampin’ Up!’-hosted reception for leaders.  Needless to say, I’m completely wiped out, but I will get back up again today and head out for Stampin’ Up!’s On Stage Local event here in Atlanta.  How exciting is that?!  Following that event, I’m headed to a pizza party with the Pals (that’s Mary Fish’s group) and then to an overnight retreat with Mary Fish and several leaders from her team.  Sunday afternoon, I will rest.  🙂

I’ll be sharing more pictures and stories (there will be stories) from our World Card Making Day event over the coming week, but for now, I’m excited to share my swaps from our organized swap. I went back and forth about what kind of card I would make for the swap and decided to fall back on my favorite type of card – clean-and-layered.  I do love a simple card with lots of layers of paper.  Because the beautiful patterns and colors in Moroccan Designer Series Paper make me so happy, I used this gorgeous paper as a major building block for my cards.

Here’s a sample of my swaps featuring the Dapper Denim in Moroccan Designer Series Paper:

Perfectly Wrapped, Moroccan Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!And are some cards the feature Cajun Craze:

It’s a lot of paper, but the finished cards are really pretty, don’t you think?  Here are the measurements for the layers I used on these cards (starting at the base and working my way up):

  • Dapper Denim – 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Very Vanilla – 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Dapper Denim – 3-3/8″ x 4-7/8″
  • Moroccan Designer Series Paper – 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″
  • Very Vanilla – 3-1/4″ x 1″
  • Dapper Denim – 2″ Circle punch
  • Very Vanilla – 2-1/8″ Layering Circles Framelits

You know how much I love to share “infinity shots” when I make a lot of the same card, right?  Well, don’t think I let this card make its way down the swap line without grabbing a photo of it first.  🙂  Here are some gratuitous shots of these cards, all lined up with one another:
