Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

Life can be really exciting when you face your fears.  Some people would rather lay in a pit of snakes than to speak in front of a crowd of people.  Others pull themselves out of their comfort zone by trying new foods or learning a new language.  Those sound great to me!  I have never had the knack for arranging flowers – in a vase or on a card – so it really makes me uncomfortable.  It never turns out like I want it to.  Well, I’ve done it today!  Here’s a sweet arrangement of flowers from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  As I mentioned above, I always been afraid of stamp sets that force me to create a bouquet of flowers – I just don’t think it’s my talent.  I bit the bullet, though, and decided to make a fun cluster of flowers with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.  The set is sold as a single set of photopolymer stamps or as a bundle with the ever-popular Happy Birthday Thinlits greeting.  What fun!  I had WAY more fun with this set than I anticipated and am thrilled with the outcome.

  • Pretty Label Punch.  I had planned to showcase another sentiment (the “happy birthday” from Special Celebrations stamp set) that works so well with the Pretty Label punch.  For giggles, I decided to see if the “happy birthday” from this stamp set would work with the label.  Alas!  It worked perfectly!  I love this punch – a soft, sweet shape for so many projects.  The punch is bundled with the Label Me Pretty Stamp set (but works with many others) and is currently on backorder until next week.  Order it, anyway!  You’ll be glad you did.  Here’s a look at this sweet punch:

  • Soft, Sweet Shades.  My flowers feature a variety of soft colors: Peekaboo Peach, Berry Burst (stamped off once for a lighter version), Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi (also stamped off once) and Sweet Sugarplum.  The sweetness of these colors is cut a little bit by the basic black outlines.  These are the three primary colors in my card: Stampin' Up!
