I love a clean and simple card. This week’s sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch offers a perfect layout for a simple card. My card features a new stamp set, new Designer Series Paper Stack and a fun, new embellishment from the Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog (live this Friday!). Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Watercolor Christmas & Quilted Christmas. Today’s cards features two products I’ve already showcased on my blog – the Watercolor Christmas stamp set and the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack. Yay! I’m absolutely over-the-moon about the Watercolor Christmas stamp set – while the set pairs with a project kit, it stands on its own beautifully. I also love the versatile patterns in the Quilted Christmas Stack. Here’s a look at this fun stamp set:
And here’s another card I made with this set (you can click on the photo to read that post:
Here’s a look at the Quilted Christmas paper:
- Stitched Felt Embellishments. This is the first time I’ve used the Stitched Felt Embellishments – what took me so long? A star, a tree, holly – so cute! They coordinate perfectly with the pages in the Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack. I attached this felt star with a tiny strip of Tear & Tape – so easy!
- What’s the Bright Idea? I love that this paper and these embellishments pair Garden Green with Real Red. By habit, I tend to pair Garden Green with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive with Real Red (regals with regals and brights with brights). It’s refreshing to see deep, rich green with rich, bright red.
Stamp Sets: Watercolor Christmas Papers: Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack, Garden Green, Real Red, Whisper White, Crumb Cake Inks: Archival Basic Black Accessories: Stitched Felt Embellishments, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Product Shares and Designer Series Paper Swatch Books. I posted my shares and swatch books from Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Holiday Catalog yesterday! What a great way to get a little bit of a lot of things in this amazing catalog. To read more about my shares, please click here.
This font is so so pretty on the greeting that it makes the card a winner !! I also like those cute little scrappy Xmas trees in you second card . Reminds me of a Xmas tree lot on Xmas eve after the “pretty” trees have been bought !! Kinda like a Charlie Brown tree !!
Thanks so much, Sonny! I love the font for all three of these sentiments. Saving the “oh joy!” for a special card. I love that one so much! 🙂
Great card Brian. The triangle pattern paper looks just like some fabric I was looking at yesterday . I am looking at fabric so I can make some quilts for the Holidays.
Have a great day.
What fun! I have to wonder how often you search for fabrics with Stampin’ Up! colors in mind. Thanks for your comment, Lesa!
Beautiful and stylish cards Brian, love the font on the first one so much, wish I could write like that!
The second one with those cute little Christmas Trees needs no sentiment, it’s a fun and sweet card too.
XO
Maria.
Thanks for your comments, Maria! I’m with you – I wish I could write like this. Such a beautiful font!
Love your CAS cards, Brian. I agree with others that the font of the greeting really makes this card pop! Enjoy your day!
Thanks, HJ. I sometimes have to slap my hand from adding more – but I’m happy with the CAS result. Thanks!
Lovely card Brian. Plaids always make me think of colder temperatures and winter holidays. I love the quilted star embellishment. It’s the perfect little touch of something extra.
Thank you so much, Robbye! I love this little pattern, too! I’m so glad you like my card. <3
Beautiful Brian and so nice to see you used traditional colors. The addition of the felt star was the absolute perfect embellishment! Love it.
Thanks, Grace! I love playing with “different” colors, but there’s something so calming about this green-and-red combo. I appreciate your comment.
Love love love this clean and beautiful card!!! It is just fab.
Thanks, Jenifer! I’m so happy you like it.
Brian this card has lots of my favorites, plaid DSP, Xmas colors, the beautiful font and of course your perfect layering ? As a rule I don’t care for felt embellishment, but these make an exception, the stitching adds the pop that makes these a hit, love them.
Katrina, thank you! I agree – not normally a fan of felt (I just don’t like the texture). The stitching in these shapes, though, adds a wonderful touch to make these really fun.
Oh MY FRIEND, what a BEAUTIFUL Christmas card , someone will be happy and excited to get it ,
Tfs hugs Frenchie ♥️
Thanks, Frenchie! I’m thrilled that you like it and hope the recipient (still to be determined) likes it, too. 🙂
I love every bit of this card Brian. I might love the sentiment part a little more. Such a great font.
Tee hee. I agree, Dianne. The sentiment on a white card base and still make me swoon. 🙂
couldn’t be more perfect. i love the simple layout and the WOW factor of the felt star and sentiment
Thanks, Mary! That stitched felt star really adds something special, and I couldn’t love that sentiment more. <3
Wonderful take on the sketch! What a pretty sentiment!
Thanks, Leigh! I always enjoy playing along with the CTS challenges.
Homespun holiday cheer! Total sweetness!
Thanks, Linda! I’m so glad you like it. “Homespun” – I’ll be using that. 🙂
