Lots to Love Box with Friends, part 2

Yesterday I shared the Lots to Love Box I made with my local stamp club this past weekend. If you missed that post, please click here. In my post yesterday, I promised to show you what we tucked inside these fun boxes, but I’m ALSO going to share a quick tip for those who want to make multiples of this box or share this box with their own stamp groups.

There are so many great ways to fill the sweet box created with the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies – you could fill the box with candies, gift cards or love notes. We tucked little cards made with the new Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes inside the box we made in club. Here’s a look at the cards we made:

Sure Do Love You, Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Valentines Day card Really simple, right? Here’s what makes these little cards so special;

  • The sweet heart and sentiment are stamped with Sweet Sugarplum and Archival Basic Black, respectively.
  • The envelope liner is punched from Petal Garden Designer Series Paper with a 2-1/4″ Circle punch. I lined the circle along the top of the rounded envelope flap and folded the envelope flap down before adding glue to the top part of the folded circle.

What made this little project so special is that my club was able to perfectly align the images with my Stamparatus. As a member of the program that developed the Stamparatus, I was able to order mine early. With this stamp placement too, we were able to replicate this card over-and-over, achieving the same look every time. Here’s a candid shot of Selina stamping her card:

Stampin' Up! Stamparatus, Brian King

As you can see, there are two panels – the heart is on the panel in her hand. She added Sweet Sugarplum ink to the heart, flipped the panel and stamped it down. Then she inked up the sentiment on the panel above the tool with Archival Black Ink and stamped it down. Aaah! Everything is perfectly placed.

Side note: I purchased Creative Corners from My Sweet Petunia last year – if you look closely, you can see the “L-shaped” item in the top, right corner of the Stamparatus. The Creative Corners allow me to stamp in different areas on my stamp placement tool – they perfectly hold the card away from the hinges of the tool. I love the elements in the Creative Corners!

Another side note: The Stamparatus will be available for ordering in Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Annual Catalog this Spring. There was a pre-order period in December during which some people were able to lock-in a Stamparatus to be shipped in March or April. Because of the way the pre-order was set-up, I don’t know who ordered one through me. If you grabbed one up from me during the pre-order, please email me to let me know.

Here’s a fun .gif that shows how the Stamparatus works:

Yesterday I showed this picture of Marti putting together two boxes – unlike the sample I showed and the projects I shared by some of the other group members (who all have a Melon Mambo box with a Rich Razzleberry band), Marti’s boxes are Rich Razzleberry with a Melon Mambo band:

Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies, Sure Do Love You, Heart Happiness, Stampin' Up!, Brian King 4

Want to know why? I could get one box (with two sides) and a 2″ belly band from one sheet of paper, so I cut an even number of pieces of cardstock (half in Melon Mambo and half in Rich Razzleberry) and swapped the belly bands for perfectlyĀ  color-coordinated boxes. Here’s a graphic to show you what I’m talking about:

Whether you are planning to make a boatload of Lots to Love Boxes or making them with a class, I hope this helps you to cut your paper to maximize things a bit.

Thanks for stopping by today!

In April, Stampin’ Up! is hosting OnStage Local events for demonstrators all over the world. One of the local events will be local to me – here in Atlanta, Georgia! I’m hosting a Spring stamping event the day before OnStage – and I’m calling it Brian’s Spring Stamp-Along. This event will be Friday, April 6 at Cobb Galleria Centre. I’d love for you to join us!

Registration for the Spring Event will open today to a limited number of demonstrators – and the day will be FILLED with fun. I can promise some inspiring presentations, super-fun games, a high-quality swap and make-and-takes like nothing you’ve ever seen. The event will mirror the World Card Making Day events we’ve hosted the last five years.

  1. love it. thanks for sharing. can we still order the apparatus?

  2. I’ll be in Vegas but am confident Brian’s Stamp-A-Long will be a ball. Love your cute note card and tips for both the Stamparatus (creative corners is a smart idea) and cutting card stock (even the belly band) for the box!

  3. Iā€™m definitely going to make these for my family for Valentineā€™s Day with candy tucked inside! Thanks for the diagram on laying them out on paper. Do excited for my order tomorrow. Iā€™m praying there arenā€™t delays with UPS- We got ice and snow yesterday in central Texas so that pretty much shut things down! Lol

  4. It’s snowing here in Maine but UPS delivered my Lots to Love Box set. Getting ready to dig into it now, thanks for the inspiration Brian!

  5. Very cute Brian, looking forward to my Stamparatus next month. The creative corners also looks like a helpful tool. I think the new size note cards are so fun. Thanks for the paper saving tip.

  6. Oh Brian – now I have to rethink this set for my next order. I wish there were some way to print out your cutting sheet to keep with it once I buy the set. I love the sweet little gift holders you made. Looks like it was a fun time.

    • Thanks, Grace! It was definitely a fun project. You could easily recreate the template with a ruler and pencil on a full sheet of paper. šŸ™‚ We do have a good time when we get together to stamp.

  7. Thanks for the cutting diagram and the idea of swapping the belly bands by cutting two coordinating colors. Plus, what punch you used to line the top of the box – that finished it off nicely! Those who will attend in Atlanta will have a really great time at both events! Plus, you added the info about those Creative Corners which now I understand how they work! Wow, what a great blog post of info today!

    • Thanks, Chris! I decided, at last minute, to break yesterday’s post into two – I thought there was so much more information to share. Glad you find it helpful. <3

  8. It’s almost more cuteness than I can handle. Oh, and cleverness too! (Cutting in two colors.) Amazing man. Stay warm – I hear you have snow again!

  9. I loved using the Stamparatus on this card. So cool.

  10. I love these little boxes. This set was not on my list, but it may be now! I love that your guests got to use the Stamparatus! How fun is that.

  11. These are the cutest. Someone (Iā€™m pointing at you) should do a FB Live that includes doing the note card envelope liner. Some of us (pointing at myself) are visual learners.

  12. I am so happy to be in your “Local Group” , love the projects we made!

  13. Brian, please shoot a stamparatus video, including your creative corners. Thank you!
