Is it too early for Easter and Spring? Even if you think it is, I can’t apologize for today’s card. I really, really wanted to play with the Timeless Tulips Bundle from Stampin Up!’s January – June Mini Catalog. The soft, Spring colors just came along with the gorgeous tulips. Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Timeless Tulips. I first received Timeless Tulips and the coordinating Tulip Builder Punch in November at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event. Through November and December, I just wasn’t ready to work with tulips, but I think I’m ready now. Here’s a look at the Timeless Tulips Bundle which includes the Timeless Tulips stamp set and Tulip Builder Punch:
Who doesn’t love a photopolymer stamp set & punch bundle?! Here are some samples from Stampin’ Up! designers with this Timeless Tulips Bundle:
- Subtle Texture. The images in the Timeless Tulips stamp features some grainy, detailed images, so you really have to pick the right colors to bring these flowers to life. I used this adorable sentiment from the stamp set, but I chose to design my card around the punched flowers. FUN TIP: the punch looks like it only punches a flower and a leaf. Punch two of those leaves, and you’ve got another layer for your flower. How fun is that?!
I added additional texture to my flowers by running through my die cutting machine inside the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I love the texture that adds! Stampin’ Up!’s 3D embossing folders are amazing. If you have any of the 3D embossing folders in the new style, you’ll want to grab up a 3D Embossing Folder Plate (it’s only $10).
- Spring Colors. My card started with the circle of Seaside Spray and the flowers in Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz. Such a gorgeous palette of colors, don’t you think?! I wanted a backdrop that would pop, so I pulled a bright panel of paper from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper in the Annual Catalog. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers:
If you like this color combination of Blushing Bride, Seaside Spray and Daffodil Delight as much as I do, please save this for future reference:

Perfect “subtle” texture for the tulips. Soft colors for spring!
The DSP really adds life to your soft and subtle card. Very pretty, Brian!
Love the texture you gave the flowers as well as in the background layer! Sweet card!
Beautiful card Brian. Send it to General Beauregard Lee and I bet he’ll change his prediction about when Spring is coming. I love your color palette.
The subtle texture got everyone’s attention. It certainly did mine immediately. Great touch. It’s a beautiful card in the soft spring colors. Enjoy your day!
This set has become one of my “go to” stamp sets. I have found that tulips can be used even for cards that are not necessarily for spring. I am actually surprised at how many different occasions can be rightly celebrated with tulips. I really loved the soft feel of your card today Brian. As always, thank you for sharing your stamping artistry.
This is so pretty for spring……and you always add thw perfect details – love the subtle embossing!
