Do you want to congratulate someone for being awesome, but you know they won’t appreciate something flowery or over-the-top? You can still make something beautiful and layered that they’ll surely love. Today’s card is sweet and simple with so many grand elements you want in your stamping stash. Here’s my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Witty-cisms and Label Me Lovely. How fun is the Witty-cisms stamp set, a set designed by Lisa Fast for her million dollar sales achievement. The sweet images and fun sentiments are either punny (“taco ’bout awesome!”) or sweet (“welcome little one”). Either way, the set offers a wonderful variety of witty-cisms that are perfect for a quick-and-simple card or tag. What fun. Here’s a look at Witty-cisms:
I stamped my “lookin’ sharp” sentiment and cactus on Thick Whisper White before punching it out with the new Label Me Lovely Punch. You can always find a great reason to add a new punch to your collection, so please take a look at the Label Me Lovely Punch:
- Paper Piecing. Not only did I stamp the cactus and sentiment on Thick Whisper White, but I also stamped the cactus on a scrap of the Garden Green piece of Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper I used in the background of this card. I snipped it out and glued it on the Whisper White cutout. I love the beautiful texture in this panel of cardstock – and it looks great on this cactus. Here’s a closer look:
- Lily Impressions. Aren’t the textured background panels on this Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper gorgeous?! Both the top and bottom of the background panel on my card are pulled from this pack of papers that are one of the free options with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper:
If you thought the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper isn’t for you, maybe you should give this pack of papers another look. If you aren’t loving the Lily Pads, I know you’ll love the gorgeous textures on the opposite sides of that page. You can flip through all the pages by clicking on the picture below:

You really sold me on the lily paper. Cute idea from the “sharp” dressed man!
Yay! I’m not really loving the lily sides of the paper, but the flip sides are incredible! β₯
Gotta love a good pun! Great card!
Right?! Thanks, Dianne! β₯
Brian, it is so nice to see some beautiful blue sky on your handsome card (on a snowy winter day here in Maine).
I’m happy to share it with you. We’ve not seen blue skies here, either, but because of constant rain. β₯
The swiped style DSPs really look awesome on your card. Great combination!
Thanks so much, Brent! It’s a great pack of papers.
Perfect use of the DSP and love the punch! Cute card!
Thanks so much, Windy! I’m pretty wow’d by this paper, too. β₯
You crack me up Brian! Hey, let’s get SU to make a stamp set with a cracked egg on it! LOL You have the greatest sense of humor. I just love it. Oh, and by the way, great card today and I can think of a bunch of guys that would really love getting it. Great job as always.
Thanks so much, Grace! It was a fun, easy card – just like I like ’em. π Glad you like it, too.
What a smart looking card. Brian, looking forward to when you help design a stamp set!
It will be such fun, Katrina, but I’m not even half way there. Can’t start counting my chickens yet. β₯ Thanks!
This really speaks to me (wink wink)!!! That punch is on my list, and someday I will cut some of my DSP, lol!
π I thought about you as soon as I saw this set, Sheryl! It can be hard to cut into DSP – you just have to make sure you have multiple packs so you won’t feel bad about “ruining” one of them. π
That is funny, Brian. Love your sense of humor! Hope you’ve had a great day!
That brushstroke DSP is perfect with that prickly cactus! Definitely lookinβ sharp!
