Happy Birthday with Bonanza Buddies

I’m excited to share my sweet-and-simple sketch for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. It’s always fun to see what everyone comes up with for a simple sketch – the variety of cards by the other designers at CTS is amazing. Here’s my fun birthday card:

CTS361Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Just One Stamp. Can you guess how many stamps I used on the front of this card? With all the images and colors on this card front, there is only stamped image on it – the fun “Happy Birthday” sentiment. Here’s a look at this fun stamp set that includes a great variety of “negative image” sentiments (the white sentiment in the middle of the colored block is what doesn’t pick up ink when the stamp is stamped into an ink pad). • A Birthday Bonanza.  You might need to take a second look at my card to believe me when I say I didn’t use any stamps from the Bonanza Buddies stamp set in my card. Here’s another look at the focal image on my card: Label Me Bold, Birthday Bonanza, Stampin Up!, Brian KingWhile I COULD have stamped this sweet lion and cropped him out with the Bonanza Dies, I pulled all of these lion images from the coordination Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (I love when punches and dies coordinate with the papers). • Color Combination. The colors I showcase on my card are pulled right from the Birthday Bonanza papers. While the Grapefruit Grove and Terracotta Tile design might not look so great flush with the Daffodil Delight panel, the colors really come together with the help of the band of candles between the two. If you feel inspired by this mix of Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove and Terracotta Tile, please save this for future reference: Stampin Up! Stamp Sets: Label Me Bold  Papers: Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper, Grapefruit Grove, Terracotta Tile, Whisper White  Inks: Terracotta Tile  Accessories: Starburst Punch, 2″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I hope you’ll pop over to the CAS(E) This Sketch site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
