More with the Send Sunshine PDF Download

In yesterday’s post, I shared all of the details around Stampin’ Up!’s charitable response to COVID-19, a 15-page downloadable PDF with some amazing sentiments and images that are perfect for the world we are currently living in (you can see that post here). The Sending Sunshine PDF Download is filled with current sentiments that are both sweet and funny. Here’s a card I made with one of my favorites:

  • Sending Sunshine & Botanical Prints Product Medley. All the proceeds from the $12 Sending Sunshine PDF Download (15 pages) will be donated to your choice of two COVID-responsive charities, and you can make loads of cards for your favorite home-bound family members, giggle-needing friends or front-line care providers.  Who wouldn’t LOVE to receive a card with one of these sentiments:Share Sunshine PDF, Stampin Up!, Brian KingTo read more about this incredible PDF, CLICK HERE. I paired this new downloadable PDF with a panel of Designer Series Paper from the Botanical Prints Product Medley, a gorgeous medley of products in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2020 Mini Catalog. The medley is in the Last-Chance (retiring) list – and the price has been reduced from $70 to $42. What a deal! Look at all that’s included in this product medley:Botanical Prints Product Medley, Stampin Up! 151301All of the retiring items are available while supplies last. • Sponging & Highlighting. After I cropped the black-and-white panel of Designer Series Paper from the Botanical Prints Product Medley, I sponged it with a Stamping Sponge and Petal Pink ink. With each pass, I sponged upward from the bottom, applying a deeper bit of Petal Pink at the bottom and lightening as I went up. This gave a lovely ombré effect on the paper:Share Sunshine, Botanical Prints Product Medley, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI cropped my sentiment with a Stitched Rectangles Die and then framed it with Pretty Peacock cardstock. I added a die cut from the Painted Labels Dies, part of the Painted Poppies Bundle. As the die would have overwhelmed the card front, I cut it in the middle and overlapped the layers so that the top and bottom elements would appear above and below the sentiment.
  • Color Combination. Once I had my Petal Pink ink and die cut completed, I had to find something that would beautifully bridge the Petal Pink and Basic Black. Pretty Peacock was an easy solution! This regal blue really softens up next to Petal Pink and becomes richer next to Basic Black. Together, they are wonderful. If you love this mix of Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock and Basic Black, please save this for future reference:Stampin Up! Color Inspiration - Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Basic Black

  1. Hi Brian, I love your card! Of course all the layering, the colors your chose and how clever to cut the die so it doesn’t over shadow the sentiment. Pink and black has always been a favorite combo. Pretty Peacock adds a nice third color.

    Please continue to be safe!

    • Thanks, Katrina! I’ve done so many pink-and-black cards that I knew I needed to add another tone. Happy with what Pretty Peacock added. I’ve been home for 50+ days now – haven’t stepped foot in another building since. Hope you and yours are keeping safe, too!
