A Sheepish Hello

I’m excited that my sketch is being featured for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. It’s always fun to create with my own sketch, but it’s even more exciting to see what other people make with the design. This sketch is relatively simple – bands across the center of the card base and a shape in the middle. What fun! I wanted to make a sweet hello card (we all need those right now, right?). Here’s my card:

And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Sweet Hello with Welcome Easter. Easter 2020 might be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to put away the adorable characters in Welcome Easter. How adorable are the chick, bunny and lamb in this set?! This set won’t be available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog, so you have until June 2 (or as long as products last) to grab it up. Here’s a closer look at this adorable set:Welcome Easter, Stampin Up! 151559I stamped the lamb with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with  mix of Stampin’ Blends – Smoky Slate, Petal Pink and Pool Party. I cropped him out with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. I added a little “HELLO” from Free as a Bird on a strip beneath him. • Dry Embossing. The Smoky Slate panel beneath the lamb is embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I love this folder – adds just the right amount of texture to my project. If you’ve purchased any of Stampin’ Up!’s 3D Embossing Folders recently, then you might have noticed that the sandwich to create on the old die cutting & embossing machines is a little different from before. The 3D Embossing Folder Plate is just a little thicker to give you EXACTLY what you need to run through the machine without additional layers. The plate is only $10 and well-worth the small investment:3D Embossing Folder Plate, Stampin Up! 149658
  • Sweet Color Combination. Two colors are predominant on my card – Petal Pink and Smoky Slate. Such a gorgeous color combination! I added a third color with a little Pool Party in the lamb’s bow-tie.  If you love this sweet combination of Petal Pink, Pool Party and Smoky Slate as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:Stampin Up!
