Q: What’s black and white and red all over (with Basic Gray accents)?
A: A sweet-and-simple Zany Zebras card, of course.
Here’s the card I’ve made to share with you today with the adorable Zany Zebras stamp set and two unrelated Designer Series Papers that gave me the great patterns I needed to make this hopping zebra pop:
- Zany Zebras. How stinking cute is this little zebra?! Not only are the little characters in this stamp set destined for the front of a card or tag you’ll soon make, but they are so easy to incorporate. You don’t have to color them or paint them – you only have to stamp them. Yay for simplicity! Here’s a look at this super-cute stamp set:
Here’s a closer look at this sweet zebra and coordinating, celebratory sentiment:
- Two Papers. With each catalog, Stampin’ Up! releases packs of themed Designer Series Papers – floral, pets, flowers. One of the things I really, really love about Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers is that they include so many patterns that coordinate with the themes but that can be used for other projects, too! My card showcases three strips (one is 1-1/2″ tall and two are 1″ tall) from papers that are new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog. the red pinstripes on my card are from Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, and the Basic Gray strips are from Peony Garden Designer Series Paper. Perfect together! ♥ Here are the colors and patterns in these two packs of papers:
When I first ordered up these papers, I never imagined I’d pair Playful Pets with Peony Garden, but…
- Color Combination. It’s a classic color combination – red, gray and black. I love it. With so many great colors to choose from in Stampin’ Up!’s color families, I often forget how powerful a simple color combination can be. If you like this mix of Real Red, Basic Gray and Basic Black, I hope you will save this for future reference:
Stamp Sets: Zany Zebras Papers: Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White Inks: Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories: Layering Circles Dies, Tailored Tag Punch (for banner tip), Stampin’ Dimensionals
What do you think? Do you love these zebras as much as I do?
Thanks for stopping by today!

The Zebras are so dang cute! I love the way you combined the DSP papers from several packs. I know I don’t ever do that so maybe I should “spread my wings” so to speak and not limit myself. You always inspire me Brian. Thank you.
