Many of my Stampin’ Up! team members (not only those with blogs) share their gorgeous projects in our team’s Facebook community – there’s such amazing and inspiring creativity in this group! I’m always excited when my team’s blog hop rolls around, though, because I get to share some of their amazing work with you. I’m just as excited to see their projects as you are, and I am proud to share them with you.
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate Christmas, which – believe it or not – is just around the corner. Please prepare yourself for lots of beautiful projects that share the joy of this holiday. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Christmas Tree-Angles
There are so many wonderful styles we can draw from when we make Christmas cards – while some love vintage or classic looks, others love modern and cool looks. And then there’s the fun of the holiday that shows up in cartoons and characters. I happen to love all of them and often dabble in a variety of styles. Today’s card is a mix of classic patterns with a modern twist. Such fun! Here’s my card for this month’s InKing Royalty Blog:
- Gorgeous Papers. This card didn’t start with the fun triangle trees or with the lopsided sentiments. When I started this card, I just wanted to play with some of the gorgeous patterns in the ‘Tis the Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. There are small prints and large prints, but every single page of this paper is perfect for Christmas – and many of them are useful at other times of the year. Yay! Here’s a look at the beautiful colors and patterns in the ‘Tis the Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!’s August – December 2020 Mini Catalog:
If you want a closer look at any or all of these pages, you can click on the photo below to flip through them in my online store:
The simple, striped background (a mix of Real Red and Cherry Cobbler) is also cut from the patterns in this pack of papers.
- Tree-Angles. You guessed it! Now that I’ve covered the gorgeous papers used to build my card, I am going to talk a little bit about the super-fun Stitched Triangles Dies, part of The Right Triangle Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2020 Annual Catalog. Here’s a look:
I cropped my trees with three of these dies (two of the trees are the same size). Once I had them all lined up how I wanted them shown on the card, I cut the edges off select trees with the neighboring dies. How fun! While I didn’t use the Tree Angle stamp set, which coordinates with the Stitched Triangles Dies, on today’s card (I just wanted to play with the papers), I would be remiss if I didn’t point it out here:
- Use Your Words. I’m a big fan of sentiments, and I look for them in every stamp set I buy. When I purchased the Peace & Joy Bundle, I knew I’d be using the coordinating “sub-phrases” as much as I’d be using the focal sentiments in the set. I didn’t, though, know how incredible they would look on my modern, fun Christmas card. ♥ Here’s a closer look at the Peace & Joy Bundle, which includes the Peace & Joy stamp set and coordinating Joy Dies:
And here’s a closer look at the sentiments on my card:
I mounted the thin sentiments on the trees with Foam Adhesive Strips- they are thinner and longer. So fun to work with!
