You’re the Best with Well Suited

I love playing with patterns, and that’s exactly what I have done to create a brilliantly blue backdrop for a simple sentiment and Balmy Blue bow tie. I had fun with this card and hope you’ll read on to read more about how I built this fun card. Here’s my card:

Handsomely Suited, Well Suited, Stampin Up!, Brian King, masculine card

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Well Suited Designer Series Paper. The triangular panels on my simple card are built with four of the gorgeous patterns from the Well Suited Designer Series Paper. Oh, my! How I love the pages in this brilliant pack of papers. Here’s a closer look at the colors and patterns in the Well Suited Designer Series Paper:Well Suited Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 154562When you are evaluating whether you need this pack of papers, be sure to look closely at the designs. Not only are there some great patterns in these pages, but there is some beautiful texture included in the designs (the pages are smooth, but you’ll want to run your finger of them as they look like cloth). • Handsomely Suited Bundle. My card feature a sweet bow tie (I colored it with my Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends) and a fun sentiment. I stamped the bow and sentiment with the Handsomely Suited stamp set and cropped the bow tie with the coordinating Suit & Tie Dies. It’s not the only way I used this set of dies on my card, though. Before I share that fun, little tidbit, here’s a look at the Handsomely Suited Bundle, which includes the Handsomely Suited stamp set and Suit & Tie Dies:Handsomely Suited Bundle, Stampin Up! 156240I cropped the triangle panels that fill the background of my focal panel with the triangular dies that build the coat in the image above. I originally intended to layer elements inside one another (the negative from one pattern would fit perfectly inside another), but I loved cropping the papers so much that I just kept going.
  • Feeling Blue. Let me start by saying I don’t think a card for a man needs to be all-blue or all-gray. The beautiful patterns in the Well Suited Designer Series Paper, though, make it SO EASY to make an all-blue card. I particularly like the trio of blue blues (no aquas in this lineup) in the pack of papers. If you like this mix of Balmy Blue, Pacific Point and Night of Navy as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:Stampin Up!
