There have been some confusing Stampin’ Up!’ product names over the years…Pineapple Punch was an In Color (and not a punch at all), the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch is a punch (and not a rubber stamp). Today I’m introducing you to a new product from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021-2023 Annual Catalog – Spiral Dye, which is a rubber stamp (despite sounding like a circular die). I made two cards with four stamps of the Spiral Die stamp. Here’s are the two cards I made with this new stamp:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Spiral Dye. You’re getting very, very groovy. The Spiral Dye Background Stamp gives us a large, super-fun tie dye image. It’s one of a handful of products Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are able to pre-order from the new book, which goes live to customers on May 4. Here’s a look at this new stamp:
It’s pretty cool, huh? What makes it extra special, though, is that you can stamp it with one color, flip the cardstock over 180 degrees and stamp with another color for a beautiful, two-colored pattern. Such fun! I used my Stamparatus to make sure everything was lined up on my 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White. How cool is that?! I created two tie dye patterns (one is Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight, and one is Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody) using my Stamparatus to make sure the patterns were in the same spot on the paper. I cut both panels at a diagonal (using my guillotine cutter to cut both at the same time, making sure I cut the panels in the exact same spot) and then flipped them for my finished cards.
- Two Cool. As I mentioned above, I was able to create two cards with a single design by cutting the panels at a diagonal and flipping the panels. I used the colors in the spiral dye to build my borders and sentiments. Here’s a look at both of my cards together:
There were no stamp sets with “groovy” or “cool cat” in them, but one new stamp set gave me an equally awesome sentiment for my psychedelic cards – Sweet Ice Cream. Not what you might expect, huh? Good news – this bundle, which has been back-ordered for a while, is now back in stock. How cool is that?! Here’s a look at Sweet Ice Cream:
- Color Combination. While I designed two separate panels with two distinct colors, all four of the colors come together on each card. I love playing with bright, cheery colors, so I love this mix of brights tones – pink, orange, blue and yellow. If you like this mix of Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Stamp Sets: Spiral Dye, Sweet Ice Cream Papers: Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Basic White Inks: Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight Accessories: Stamparatus, 1-1/2″ Circle Punch, Layering Circles Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
These cards were so fun to make – and I’m happy I could share them with you today. Thanks for stopping by today!

Totally groovy, huh?! Thanks, my cool cat friend.
As always, I love your card! This will definitely be included on my first order after the new catalog is available!
Did you turn the paper 180* or just rotate it to the left/right one time?
Thank you so much, Lindsay! I flipped the paper a full 180% to stamp the second color. Such fun!
It’s great what you did with this stamp set. I am eager to see what others do with it as well. I had completely missed it in the new catty. Your cards are fun and do bring a retro vibe. Too cool!! Enjoy your day!
Thank you so much, Hilda! I’m so happy you like the cards – and I’m so happy to have introduced you to this stamp. 🙂 SO many goodies in this new catalog. ♥
Fun! Brings me back to my college days….peace, love and tie die!
Yay! I’m so glad you like the cards, Linda! I barely remember my college days in the 70’s…
Great job with these colors and this new background stamp. You make it look soooo cool…or should I say groovy!?!
🙂 Thanks so much, my friend! It was fun to play with.
Oh my word! I have to go back and order this one! I was sort of a flower child! Thanks for sharing!
Brian, I just received this stamp today and after watching several YouTube videos on how to use it, I came back to your written directions and colors. Yours were by far the best. And cutting the layers diagonally to get four colors on a card, well what a great idea! Or I should say, “Groovy”! Thank you for sharing! Peace!😄
Thank you so much for letting me know, Nancy! It’s such a great set if you use it right. I have big plans for this one. SO glad you found my explanation helpful. ♥
