Love of the Season

Christmas is a time of year that’s filled with love, but we don’t often associate the December holiday with hearts. As I was playing with some beautiful Christmas papers with some unconventional (but oh-so-beautiful) colors and a gorgeous sentiment I love so much, I decided the Christmas card I was making would feature a big, pink heart. Here’s my card:

My card features two pages of the amazing Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper to build my pink and green Christmas card. While the Polished Pink panel on top can be used for any occasion (it’s not specific to Christmas), the Mossy Meadow panel I added beneath it showcases holly and little, pink berries. You are definitely going to want the Floral Heart Dies when Valentine’s Day rolls around (or when you have to make a wedding card for your favorite niece’s nuptials), but it’s quite beautiful on a Christmas card, too – don’t you think? The Floral Heart Dies, which coordinate with the Always in my Heart stamp set, can be used to build a big, beautiful heart. Here’s a look at these dies (you can click on the image to see the product in my online store):

I stamped the sentiment on my card with Mossy Meadow cardstock – such a great sentiment! Does it get any lovelier than “May the love of the season warm your home & fill your heart”? I stamped it on a 1″ x 2-1/4″ strip of Basic White cardstock.

Despite the angle of the heart on my card, I positioned the sentiment horizontal to the base of the card. Here’s a look at the super-fun Whimsical Trees Bundle that features this sentiment and some really great trees:

I adore the colors in the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Papers. It just so happens I featured the three colors I picked as “my favorite color combination” from this pack of papers when we were first introduced to them earlier this year. You might not see a lot of Blushing Bride on this card, but it’s there (the distressed areas on the Polished Pink panel are Blushing Bride). If you like this mix of Blushing Bride, Polished Pink and Mossy Meadow as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
