I’m happy to share a super-simple card today that wasn’t the card I set out to make when I hit the ground running in my craft room (you know, the Fungeon). I was excited to play with the page of bold stripes in the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper (it’s a GORGEOUS collection of colors in a bold, wonderful pattern), but I had use three OTHER pages when I was done. Here’s my card:
Here’s look at the colors and patterns in this gorgeous, non-traditionally-colored pack of papers:
As you can see, I used three designs from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper – the Mint Macaron pattern on the top, right corner; the page of pretty packages in the bottom, left corner; and the Misty Moonlight tone-on-tone page in the bottom, right corner. Fun combination – don’t you think?!
I used Paper Snips to crop out the little packages and layered them in fun angles on the base of my Mint Macaron panel – such fun! Once I had my packages how I wanted them, I placed a strip of Post-It Tape over it and then added glue to the back. After they were all glued down, I carefully pealed away the Post-It Tape. It made it so easy for me to get the arrangement right on my card! ♥
The sentiment on my card is a common one during the holidays – “let your heart be light” (it’s pulled straight from the lyrics of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” The saying is pulled form the Whimsical Trees Bundle that coordinates so well with the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at this super-fun bundle:
While the sentiment is very “Christmas-y,” on my card, it has a hidden meaning. Here’s what I’m telling my loved ones with this card – “when you buy a Christmas gift for me, I want you to have a light, happy heart – but I also hope you to have planned for a big, heavy budget”. Ha! Ha! I cropped the sentiment with one of the dies from the Seasonal Labels Dies – what fun!
I love classic mixes of color – pink, green and blue are always a winner. In this case, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Misty Moonlight come together to make a beautiful card. Do you agree? If you like this mix of sweet tones as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
Stamp Sets: Whimsical Trees Papers: Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper, Misty Moonlight, Mint Macaron, Thick Basic White Inks: Misty Moonlight Accessories: Seasonal Labels Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
What do you think? Do you love these sweet colors for Christmas as much as I do?
Thanks for stopping by today!

Okay my friend…….You seem to ALWAYS create DARLING projects……BUT STOP……This card is FANTASTIC.
LOVE every single thing about your card. TFS!
Love your beautiful card. I’m not a pastel/pink gal, but I have fallen in love with this beautiful DSP.
Adorable…love the way you popped the sentiment on the presents!
Very cute! Thanks for the tip on how you arranged the packages. Another one of those duh… moments in why didn’t I think of that! Loved your thoughts on the sentiment. LOL. This paper is so fun and pretty, I hate to cut into it but I might use some for the swap card. I scrapped my two previous ideas already.
Very cute card. I admire your “thinking outside the box” color choices!
My heart would be light too if all of my holidays packages were delightfully wrapped like that! So pretty!
