Sometimes a beautiful card can be really, really simple – especially if the oh-so-gorgeous New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is involved. With just a few accents, this paper makes quite a scene! ♥ Here’s a look at the card I’m excited to share with you today:
The New Horizons Designer Series Paper is packed full of gorgeous landscapes and abstract pages of watercolored texture. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this pack of papers (please do yourself a favor and click on the image below to flip through all of the pages in my online store):
Here’s a look at the page I used on my card (by splitting this page right down the middle to create a 3″ wide panel, I was able to make two cards with each piece of this design):
The panel at the center of the card I’m sharing with you today is framed with Thick Basic White and showcased on a neutral panel of Sahara Sand cardstock. Between those layers, though, is a beautiful piece of vellum (with a white print) from the Vellum 12″ x 12″ Layering Designs (found here or on page 33 of Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog).
It wasn’t until I finished my card that I realized I used this same page on the first card I shared with this pack of papers. Here’s that card (you can click on the image to see my original post):
I only added three elements to the panel of New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to give it beautiful life. Here’s a bit about those elements:
- I stamped the wood grain image from the On the Horizon stamp set with Sahara Sand ink on Thick Basic White cardstock and cropped the fence from the Horizon Dies, part of the On the Horizon Bundle. These dies give such depth to the scene on this paper. The dies are currently on backorder (they’ve been SO popular), but I’ll be sure to let you know when they are back in stock.
- The sentiment on my card is stamped with Sahara Sand from the Create with Friends stamp set and popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- I added smooth, little pebbles around the sentiment. These little self-adhesive stones from the Pebbles Enamel Shapes are a perfect accent to add a little texture and to bring the outdoors to any project.
Here’s a closer look at these elements on my card:
I can’t begin to tell you how gorgeous these pages are – so many great starts for so many beautiful projects in this pack of papers! ♥

Marvelous way to use the paper for a sweet and creative scene!
Beautiful work and showcasing of this gorgeous paper. I have seen it used so often and you just had me add it to my wishlist for next month–here in Canada. This paper is just so versatile. Love all your work.
This is a beautiful card, Brian. I love the fence, stones, and vellum you added to make this great scene. Enjoy your day!
What a perfect little scene my friend.
Love how you layered here. Such a lovely card!
That’s so beautiful!
Love the choice of Safara Sand for the base. Really POPS the focal panel, as does the vellum. Yet another fabulous card using this amazing DSP and die set.
