Thanks with Celebrate Sunflowers

Before I share today’s project, I want to give one last plug for my latest project – Brian & Emma’s Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit. Today is the last day of sign-ups for our very first kit (I’ll also need payment today, too). In other words, this is the last chance you have to collect all of the kits we’ll be offering. 🙂

Super-Awesome Fun Time Card KitThe first kit includes the makings for 10 cards we’ve designs (all the pieces are cropped and ready for you to stamp and assemble), including papers, embellishments and envelopes. You won’t be disappointed with what we have planned – you’ll also get a detailed video from Emma and me, a .pdf tutorial for all ten of the cards and an invitation to a Zoom call with us (and the other kit participants) at the end of the month. ♥

Stampin’ Up!’s “Savings in Bloom” promotion (20% off the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and select bundles from the 2021 Annual Catalog) has prompted some great orders over the past week that have left me reaching for some of my “old” favorites from the Annual Catalog. I created today’s card with one of those bundles – here’s my card:

Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King

During the Savings in Bloom promotion, the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is 20% off the regular price and select bundles are 20% off (instead of the regular 10% off). Click here to see all of the discounted products in my online store:

One of the discounted bundles, Celebrate Sunflowers, has been very popular with my customers this week – perhaps it’s because it’s marked down to $45.50 during March. Here’s a look at this incredible bundle:

Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle, Stampin Up! 154065There are three layers to my sunflower. Before I share how I built it, here’s a closer look at the flower at the center of my card:

Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian King

Here’s how I built it:

  • I cropped the large, solid sunflower (shown in the bottom, right corner of the photo above) from Vellum cardstock. I added the round, flower center die (shown in the lower, left corner of the photo above) to cut a hole in the center of the vellum piece.
  • I cropped the large, detailed sunflower with Bumblebee cardstock.
  • I cropped the same large, detailed sunflower with Cinnamon Cider cardstock and snipped the petals off the center circle.
  • I glued the Cinnamon Cider piece to the Bumblebee piece (perfectly aligning the dots in the center) and the glued those to the vellum (aligning the shape of the flower to the vellum below it).
  • The sentiment, isolated from one of the sentiments in the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set, is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock and cropped with paper snips.

I mounted my sunflowers on a 4″ x 4″ piece of the All Together 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The background panel is black-and-white, but I filled in the white circles with Cinnamon Cider and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends to build a beautiful backdrop for my flower. Here’s a look at the patterns in this amazing pack of papers:

All Together Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, 160039While the black paper provides a gorgeous depth in the background of my card, the other colors give this card a warm, homey feel. If you like this mix of Soft Sea Foam, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
