A Little Paradise

I’m always excited by a simple card that’s also beautiful. With Stampin’ Up!’s Paradise Palms Bundle and New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, I made a card that took me very little time to design and create (products like these are always great to have on-hand in a pinch). Here’s the card I’m excited to share with you today:

Paradise Palms, New Horizons Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King

The Paradise Palms Bundle offers some beautiful trees, leaves and ground cover for a gorgeous card. You can easily build your own island paradise with this sweet bundle – here’s a look at the Paradise Palms Bundle, which includes the Paradise Palms cling stamp set and coordinating Palms Dies:

Paradise Palms Bundle, Stampin Up! 157719The grand palm tree is a standout from this bundle, but I hope you won’t look past the sentiments in this set. “Hope you find a little paradise wherever you may be” is such a beauty – what a wonderful way to wish someone well if they are in a rough spot or congratulate them on a major achievement (like retirement)! Here’s a closer look at this sentiment that I tucked into the lower, left corner of my paper:

If you’ve been following me for the past couple of months, then you aren’t surprised to see the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper on my blog today. I love it SO MUCH and reach for it SO OFTEN. The beautiful patterns give you a watercolored landscape (or abstract, watercolored backdrop) that gives any project an immediate kick-start. Here’s a look at the gorgeous colors and patterns in the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (you can click on the image below to tab through all of the pages in my online store):

New Horizons Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 157768One more thing! I cropped my New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper so small so I could allow the palm tree to hang over the edges of the panel. I added a panel of Vellum 12″ x 12″ Layering Designs behind my focal panel to frame the focal panel and allow the palm tree to pop a bit more. I love that these vellum papers are a mix of white and black patterns – so beautiful! Here’s a look:

Vellum Layering Designs, Stampin Up! 157764I added three small, black Classic Matte Dots around my sentiment to pull in the black from the palm tree and the frame around the focal panel. They also add a little texture to the card, which I love.

  1. What a peaceful scene, Brian. I love the palm tree, vellum layer, and great sentiment. The font of the sentiment is an eye-catcher, too. Enjoy your day!

  2. Another example of how you personalize the design elements we all work with to create an iconic BK work of art. The New Horizon DSP bowls me over every time, but addition of that perfect palm and the vellum really ring the bell. ♥️ this!

  3. GORGEOUS card Brian! Love the colors!

  4. Looks like the kind of card you spent hours on creating……….I’ll keep your secret.

  5. I could feel the warm air blowing and smell the salt from the ocean when looking
at this card Brian. It is so refreshing when the wind is howling like it is right now and the temperatures are in the single digits. Thanks for warming me up with this beauty.
