On Saturday I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with my customers.
Today I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Beyond the Horizon kit – a gorgeous collection of beautiful landscapes and wonderful sentiments – there was even a bonus stamp set in this month’s kit! Here are the gorgeous finished projects from the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:
Here’s a look at the stamp set that came with the other elements of this kit:
Alternative Projects
I made a handful of projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I’m sharing them with you today. What fun!
Card Fronts
The card fronts in the Beyond the Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit depict beautiful landscapes that scream to be showcased. I showcased two of those patterns in these two cards, which I cropped and mounted on coordinating cardstock:
The mountain landscape on the first card was too beautiful to cover up. It felt like a work of art, so I embossed it with my Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and framed it with a Smoky Slate duo of Stitched Rectangles Dies. I added a small sentiment in the lower corner of the frame to not block the scene. I mounted this framed scene on a Misty Moonlight base.
I created a modern look with the landscape I used on the second card. By simply cutting into the panel with my Stampin’ Trimmer, I created a fun pattern with the panel of paper. Again, I didn’t want to cover up the paper (or the design I created), so I added the “thanks” to the base of the focal panel. I mounted the second card on Evening Evergreen cardstock.
Cutouts from the Kit
The other two projects I’m sharing with you today feature some of the brilliant cutouts from the kit:
I decorated a 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ Acetate Card Box with a pattern from one of the envelopes in the kit. The cool, circle emblem on my box front is Pale Papaya on one side and white on the other. I colored the white side with a Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend so it would stand out on my project and added a leaf from the kit and three iridescent gems from the kit. I tied the panel to the box with a thin ribbon included in the kit and topped it with a sentiment from the additional stamp set that came with this month’s Paper Pumpkin kits.
I love the white, embossed panel from the kit and the beautiful silhouette of leaves. Together with an Evening Evergreen band, they created a lovely panel for a sympathy card. I added a sun behind by cutting the envelope with a Layering Circles Die. I mounted this on Crumb Cake to soften the beautiful scene.
New Horizons
The Beyond the Horizon Paper Pumpkin kit is designed to coordinate with the papers in the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (which I love). Any of these projects can be created with pages from that amazing pack of papers. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:

- The kit includes a Melon Mambo Classic Stampin’ Spot and iridescent sea glass.
- Coordinating Colors: Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Evening Evergreen, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo
