Be Inspired by Spring

It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!

For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are sharing Spring-inspired projects we’ve designed just for you. While it’s not Spring all over the world, today’s hop is certainly filled with gorgeous flowers and sweet Easter friends. We hope our projects inspire you and that you leave with lots of fun ideas! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the adorable Easter project shared by my talented friend Carolynn Sander.

Flowers for Mother’s Day

The United Kingdom celebrated Mother’s Day this past weekend, but we celebrate this special day early May in the United States. Whether it’s for a mother, a daughter or a mentor, a Mother’s Day card is not something you “crank out real quick” – it deserves attention and detail to honor the special occasion. I’ve made a Mother’s Day card with several Stampin’ Up! products that I’m excited to share with you today. Here’s my card:

Celebrating You, Tulips Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Mother's Day cardThere’s something that really pops about this card – I’m not sure I can put my finger on it, but I am pretty sure it’s the 47 flowers that frame the simple sentiment (yes, I counted them!). I cropped these flowers with the Tulips Dies, sold separately or as a part of the Flowering Tulips Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s January – June 2022 Mini Catalog. Here’s  a look at this incredible bundle:

Flowering Tulips Bundle, Stampin Up!, 157678I used four Stitched Rectangles Dies on my card – two are used to build the frame, one is used to crop the larger Night of Navy panel, and one is used to crop the Crumb Cake panel. The sentiment at the center of this card is pulled from the Celebrating You stamp set (I heat-embossed it on Night of Navy cardstock with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder) – here’s a look at this sentiment-focused stamp set that you’ll use throughout the year:

Celebrating You, Stampin Up! 158028BONUS! It just so happens this is the stamp set Emma and I focused on for our Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit. If you are in the U.S. or U.K. and would like to learn more, please click here.

I cropped several strips of these tulips with Basic White cardstock and colored them with a variety of Brights Stampin’ Write Markers (I used Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight). I lined them up around the frame I had created with the Stitched Rectangles Dies, snipping them to fit along each side of the frame. I then added a “filler flower” (or two) on each corner to give a more continuous look. Here’s a closer look at the flowers on my card:
