Fancy Folds Blog Hop - April 2022Welcome to the Candy Hearts Blog Hop for April! Today we are sharing projects with Fancy Folds. After reading my post, I hope you will hop to the next person on the list below. Be sure to hop around to see ALL the great projects the Candy Hearts have created for you!

So Happy for You

I don’t make a lot of cards that would be considered “fancy folds” – my cards tend to be simple A2 cards, a half-sheet of cardstock that’s scored in half. I played around with different ideas for today’s Candy Hearts Blog Hop and landed on a mix of fancy folds that I love so much. Here’s my card:

Good Feelings, Summer Shadows Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, fun fold card

My card showcases a variety of products that are not yet available (but that will be when Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog launches on May 3). Here’s a list of these products:

  • Good Feelings Cling Stamp Set
  • 2022-2024 In Colors (I showcase Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party here)
  • Summer Shadow Dies (these were a Sale-a-Bration item last Fall, but they are available for purchase in the new catalog!)

I love stamp sets with big, bold sentiments – they make card designs so easy! I received the Good Feelings stamp set as a part of Stampin’ Up!’s online event last week. Here’s a look at this stamp set:

Good Feelings, Stampin Up!, 158737Great sentiments, right?! Here’s a look at the Summer Shadows Dies, which are back in the new catalog (I’m happy I hung on to mine):

Summer Shadows Dies, Stampin Up!, 156618To build my flowers and leaves, I ran my ink pads over the coordinating cardstock to achieve a richer concentration of color. I cropped the detailed images with the inked cardstock and the base images with the cardstock. This really adds something special to these beautiful flowers. Here’s a look at the Sweet Sorbet flower as it’s above to pass through my Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine:

Good Feelings, Summer Shadows Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, fun fold cardThese flowers look amazing in the new 2022-2024 In Colors, don’t they?! Here’s a look at all five of these amazing, new colors (I used the first three on this card):

Stampin Up! 2022-2024 In Colors - Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet, Orchid Oasis, Starry SkyNow that I’ve covered all the products on this card, let me walk you through how I built it.

The base of the card is a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that I scored at 5-1/2″ and then cut in 1-1/2″ inches along the right side of the front base.

I cut an 8-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake and scored it at 4-1/4″ (the 4-1/4″ piece is glued to the back of the card and the 4″ piece wraps around to the front.

The Basic White panel on the front of the card measures 3-7/8″ x 4-1/8″. All the other layers fit or frame the panels. You might have different sizes with different stamps or dies, so I will rely on you to fit or frame as you see fit. ♥

Here’s another look at my card:

Good Feelings, Summer Shadows Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, fun fold cardHere’s how the card opens:

  • The front flap (with sentiment) opens outward to the right:Good Feelings, Summer Shadows Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, fun fold card
  • The remaining panel lifts up: Good Feelings, Summer Shadows Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, fun fold card

I didn’t decorate the inside panel of the card (as so many like to do) because I plan to write a lot of encouraging, supportive words inside. 🙂

  4. Fun Fold in deed! Brian, I to like large bold sentiments! I looked up this one in the new upcoming catalog and “yep” I have it flagged for my want list. Thank you for the tip of stamping the CS in order to give the flower outline a deeper color vs using two colors of CS. “Smart”
