I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers yesterday. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with my customers.
Today I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Change is Beautiful kit – a great mix of fancy fold cards that pay homage to “change” – the evolution of a caterpillar to a butterfly, the growth of a bud to a flower and the transition of night to morning! Here’s a look at the finished projects from the April 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:

I really love the sentiments in this set – they give a perfect way to show support and love to someone special in your life. They are a perfect tribute to the transformations showcased in the kit.

Alternative Projects
I made a handful of projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I’m sharing them with you today. What fun!

Beautiful Things
The flower at the heart of one of the kit projects is a real beauty. I positioned it on a green-and-blue panel that I cropped from the inside of one of the envelopes in the kit. I framed that with Thick Basic White and mounted that on a Melon Mambo panel I cropped from another of the envelopes in the kit. Together, with a banner and sentiment from the kit, they come together to make a beautiful 4″ square card:
A New Day
The butterfly in the kit is also a true beauty. I love the mix of pink and yellow in its wings. I mounted it on the front panel of the card, allowing it to hang over the edge a bit. I also added yellow flowers to the front and the iridescent embellishments from the kit. For a little shine, I painted the butterfly with my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. Such an easy way to add a special shine!
I added a panel over the cocoon on this card that says “Every day is a new day” the last panel says “May this new season hold wonderful new experiences.” Beautiful!
Back-to-Front
The back of each of the fancy fold cards features a panel with a framed white center. The frame on one of the cards showcased a beautiful transition from pink to yellow that matched the colors in the butterfly’s wings, so I cropped it and used it to frame this panel from the inside of a different card. I mounted these pieces on a Crushed Curry cardstock base. The warm sun, beautiful butterfly and gorgeous sentiment are a perfect combination.
Happy Moon
One of the cards in this kit features a nighttime sky – you punch out the moon and some of the stars from the front of the card to allow the yellow from the inside panel to highlight the moon and stars. The punch-outs don’t have to be thrown away, though – I flipped over my moon to the white side, colored it with a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker, added some Wink of Stella and then mounted it on a panel from the inside of one of the envelopes. I mounted this framed panel on a Basic Base card base and strip of All Together 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I stamped “I believe in you” on a cloud I punched with my Cloud Punch from Basic White cardstock. I also added some of the stars I punched from the front panel of the card.
