Father’s Day is one week away in the United States – it’s not too late to make him a quick card with some of the supplies you are saving up for a special occasions. “He” might be the father of your children, the father of your grandchildren or the guy who is a wonderful father figure for children you love. He knows you make cards, and I’m sure he’d love to receive the one you make for him.
I used some new products in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog to make this Father’s Day card:
We are going to get to the sentiment, but can we please start with these gorgeous papers? I love this barbecue-themed panel from the He’s the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper – I can almost smell the smoking hickory. The sentiment on my card is build with a wonderful new bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog. The Alphabest Bundle includes the photopolymer alphabet stamp set and coordinating Best Label punch. There are also some fun frames, images and accents in the stamp set. If you didn’t know, “rad” is slang for “someone who’s awesome.” You might have also noticed that “rad” and “dad” are both three-letter words, so they centered perfectly on my card. To further center them, I added a black star with the Starlit punch, a carryover from the 2021 Holiday Mini Catalog. The star pops against the Sahara Sand strip and references the Designer Series Paper behind it.
I’m a big fan of using color for masculine cards (there’s no reason to be afraid of blues, greens, yellows or oranges), but I really, really of the mix of Basic White, Sahara Sand and Basic Black in this pack of papers. I COULD HAVE made the star yellow, but the black star worked so well with the coordinating paper. If you like this mix of Basic White, Sahara Sand and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

What a fun card! Using the punch for the alphabet adds to the classiness of this card. It is so much better than a plain rectangle would be. I may have to re-think adding that set to my stash. Enjoy your day!
