I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers yesterday. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with my customers.
Today I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Pick of the Crop kit – a fun mix of cards themed around Summer fruits, flowers and freshly baked bread. This kit delivers a farmer’s market (in paper form). Here’s a look at the finished projects from the June 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:
Here’s a look at the stamp set that came with the other elements of this kit:
I really love the sentiments in this set – they tie in with the fruits and breads perfectly and can be used for projects throughout the year.
Alternative Projects
I designed five projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I’m sharing three of them with you today. What fun!
Here’s a look at three of my alternative projects with this kit:
Thinking of You
I pulled from several elements in the kit to build the sweet-and simple “thinking of you” card. I bundled together three stems of the purple flowers and placed them in a pot I cropped from the wagon image. I popped those up on a beautiful backdrop panel from one of the card bases and stamped “Thinking of you” (from the included stamp set) in Blackberry Bliss. I mounted this scene on a soft backdrop (the back panel of one of the cards). Here’s a closer look:
It’s simple, but I think it showcases the most beautiful elements of this kit. What do you think?
Love You a Whole Bunch
There was a lot of discussion in our group (and online if you look for it) about the bread punch-outs in the kit. They are a shape I’ve never seen before, but I’ve also never picked up a baguette of bread at a fancy farmer’s market. Either way, I tucked the duo of baguettes inside a Mini Pocket Envelope. I cropped the pocket from a page of the Tea Boutique 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and wrapped the front of the pocket with one of the vellum labels. I added a piece of cheese and a sweet sentiment to that. Here’s a closer look at the finished pouch:
While you could easily add a gift card to the pouch, cash would also be appropriate. 🙂 Alternatively, this little pouch would be a fun way to pack up plastic ware and a napkin for a picnic.
Here’s a look at the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies:
Hi
Is there a better way to say “hi” to someone you love than with four baguettes of bread?!Who doesn’t love bread?! 🙂 I wanted to showcase these little loaves in some way, and this 3″ x 3″ card was as good as any. Here’s a closer look at the card:
I popped up these tiny loaves on a trimmed-down vellum piece from the kit and then popped that up, too. The 2″ band across the back of the Cajun Craze base is one of the patterns from the Regals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – the plaid felt as picnic-y as any. Fun, right?
On the inside, I added another small strip of the Designer Series Paper and stamped “let’s get together soon” from the Cup of Tea stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog. Here’s a look at the inside:
When this idea came to me, I thought I might not ever send a bread-formed “hi” to anyone, but I grew to love the idea more and more as I played with it. ♥

I’m chuckling over your “HI!” So clever, BK!
Very clever use of the bread.
I love getting PP monthly . I very seldom use it like it is shown .I always like the stamp set ! I am still trying to figure out how to use the bread pieces and love your idea of gifting a friend four loaves of bread ! Giggle !
I “LOAF ” your baguette “HI”.
Hi Sonny! I, too, love the stamp sets and rarely use the kit as shown. I love alternatives and if all else just let them pile up until I am ready to play with them. Just thought I would pop in and say hi!
Dang Sonny, you beat me to it, with the “I loaf your baguette Hi” card! I do think the pointed ends make them look a bit funny and look sort of like a yam. But, a little rounding off makes them just tasty or even toasty! The first card, I am CASEing as I want to send a card to someone who lost their husband recently. I do not know her but have communicated on Facebook or Email a couple of times. I think this card is just so soothing and wonderful. Brian, no wonder you are the king but if using the piece of cheese on a card we could say you are the Big Cheese! Hugs my friend for making me smile today!
