Naturally Beautiful with Symbols of Fortune

Well, here we are. Today is the last day of June, which means two amazing promotions end today. If you want to take advantage of either of these great promotions (which won’t be here tomorrow morning), then please click on one of the links below to begin shopping:

Today I’m sharing a card I made with two gorgeous products that are part of the Last Chance Sale. I mixed two coordinating pages from a retiring pack of papers and built a sweet pattern that helped to showcase both. My card features two dreamy panels from the Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper. Here’s my card:

While six of the patterns in the Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper feature gold foil accents, I chose two with no gold – one page features a repeated background of cranes, while the other features a few cranes flying through the clouds (I used only the clouds). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper:

I chose the “our friendship is naturally beautiful” sentiment from the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set for my card to add a modern twist to the classic look of the cranes. It looks so fresh, don’t you think? The large circle around the sentiment adds space around the sentiment to further cement its importance on the card. The Flowering Rain Boots Bundle has been a popular set with my customers (and a favorite of mine), but it also won’t be available tomorrow – if this has been on your wish list, now’s the day to pick it up.

Flowering Rain Boots Bundle, Stampin Up! 157691When I started to make this card, I really wanted to showcase as much of the background paper as possible – it’s truly gorgeous. I cropped one 3/4″ strip of Evening Evergreen cardstock and glued it down before I was sure that’s what I wanted. As fate would have it, it wasn’t. Instead of cutting another piece of the Specialty Designer Series Paper, I cut two more 3/4″ strips and glued them down, leaving a little space between. That covered up more than I originally planned to cover up, but I really liked the outcome.

I hope you like my card, and I hope you’ll take one more look at the two promotions that end today – you’re sure to find something you’ll love. ♥

  6. An absolutely fabulous card Brian. I love the way you used the DSP as a backdrop for the saying. Gorgeous.

  7. Doggone it, Brian, I was trying to curb my additions to my stash. But your card is so lovely and the paper was half-price. So I went for it. This isn’t the first time one of your posts encouraged me to shop after saying I wouldn’t. You’re a very special enabler!

  8. Lol, as fate would have it, I was going to ask how you decided to stage this card, and you answered my question before asking! Thanks, B!
