It’s August – and that means Halloween is right around the corner! Oh, how I love to sit in my front yard with a big bowl of candy, waiting for the trick-or-treaters to pay a visit! I live at the end of a long, downhill cul de sac, and we’ve had no visitors for the past 10 years. Maybe the 11th year will be different? I’m building myself up that this year will be different. Here’s a fun trick-or-treat card I made:
The Smoky Slate panel on my card features the silhouettes of four adorable trick-or-treaters. I stamped them in a diagonal row with Memento Tuxedo Black ink to build a fun pattern and background on my card. Here’s a look at the Scary Cute stamp bundle:
The sentiment on my card – “Say BOO and SCARY ON!” is also from the Scary Cute stamp set. What a cute sentiment! I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black in on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and cropped it with a stitched label die from the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. Here’s a closer look a this sentiment and the die I used to crop it:
My card features Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie, three colors that are closely tied to Halloween. To soften these colors a bit, I added two banners of Fresh Freesia cardstock and six Fresh Freesia sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins & Gems, new in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. What a fun card Brian. If you stare at the kids on the card a few seconds you can hear them shouting “Trick or Treat” Tee-hee. Perhaps to get the kids to run down to the end of the cul de sac you need a strobe light or a disco ball….LOL
