An Autumn Thank You

Gratitude is in the air – and it lasts for longer than just the last Thursday in November. As the seasons change and warm, Fall colors abound, I’m always reminded of the things I’m thankful for. I guess that’s a perfect time to make a beautiful thank you card! Here’s one:

There are a couple of design tips in this card, but it was mostly simple with this gorgeous panel from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper:

Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King 159633I used the fifth pattern on the top row to create this large background. With the same pattern along the top and bottom of this paper, you can make a lot of cards with this beautiful field of flowers. So easy! The sentiment and sweet banner on this panel of paper are pulled from the Fond of Autumn Bundle. Here’s a look at this gorgeous bundle:

Fond of Autumn Bundle, Stampin Up!, 159838I heat-embossed the GORGEOUS “Thank you” with White Stampin Emboss Powder on Cajun Craze and stamped the banner with Pumpkin Pie ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Here’s a closer look:

The banner in the stamp set would extend across the entire panel of Designer Series Paper, but I snipped a small segment out of the center of the banner to generate the length I wanted for this card. I curled the edges of the banner with my Bone Folder to give the banner a little dimension.

To give the Designer Series Paper support, I glued the panel to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. To again pull in the Pumpkin Pie cardstock from the banner, I allowed a touch of orange to peek out on the top and bottom of the Designer Series Paper panel. I would normally frame the entire panel with the cardstock, but I am happy with this touch of orange.

I love the rich colors in this page of Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper and accented to panel with colors from the papers. If you like this rich, regal mix of Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  2. Thank you for giving me an idea how to use this beautiful DSP. The borders at the top and bottom of Pumpkin Pie add some color to offset the dark background without taking away from the flowers. Plus, I like your tip on cutting the banner.
    Happy Sunday !
